A lot of players will be surprised by exactly how brief 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Astro Bot’s speedrun levels are. I played through the first of a series of weekly updates yesterday, and it took me less than five minutes to earn the duo of new VIP bots - 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rise of the Ronin and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Helldivers 2. After that, I was done and ready to move on.
Except I wasn’t. Despite unlocking everything this short new level has to offer, which shows up in a new galaxy the second you open up the ga🐼me, I was determined to get the best time possible. I was playing with friends too, and so we made a habit of passing a controller back and forth for the best part of an hour as we refined our runs again and again. It was friendly competition at its most wholesome, and once the evening began to close I had achieved a killer run of 35 seconds.
Astro Bot Has A Very Bright Future Ahead Of It
Team Asobi could have released all of its speedrun levels in a single update and called it a day, and I ha🗹d the impression it was doing just that at first. But this weekly cad🔴ence will keep Astro Bot in the conservation and allow the game to grow in a way that feels natural, not to mention it keeps the spectacle and surprise that Astro Bot does so well going for just a little bit longer. Every week for the next two months, I can look forward to new levels and new bots that naturally expand upon an experience I have already earned the Platinum trophy.
I am abundantly aware that some Real Gamers on the internet have already destroyed my best time. They are built di♈fferent, I’m not, and that’s oka🥀y.
Each speedrun level is almost identical to the layout seen in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Astro’s Playroom. You can get them beat in under a minute, but the intention is to compete for the best times, earn all new bots, and refine a route that cannot be bested. It fosters a sense of community that a single player platformer like this wouldn’t normally🍌 have, but thanks to stellar gameplay mechanics and an identity that hinges on legacy and nostalgia, it has the potential to stick around for a very long time. I know these updates will come to an end one day, but what if they didn’t, or what would that sort of product look like if Astro Bot was some form of live-service outing?
Free Updates Keep This Single Player Game Alive
Speedrun levels could be introduced as part of regular updates for years, before Astro Bot is sunsetting just in time for a sequel to break cover on th🧜e PS6. I still believe a version of such a strategy would bear fruit, especially when you consider Astro’s P📖layroom was updated to reflect the upcoming launch of Astro Bot, with each patch introducing a new riddle, new bot, and even an extra layer to the hub world in which new accessories could be unlocked. Asobi is a developer that understands how two entirely separate titles can link together in amazing ways, and to see that continue with Astro Bot’s potential successor would be a delight.
We already know that each speedrun level is going to introduce a couple of new VIP bots each, and these will appear in the hub world and even offer ཧnew items in the claw machine.
Over the next couple of years, long after the speedrun levels have had their day, playable expansions or surprise updates could gradually build out the world of Astro Bot and tease exactly what is to come. Astr⛄o’s Playroom was a pack-in for the PS5 that the majority of us finished years ago, but one tiny update brought it back into the limelight.
So many games these days are flashes in the pan that we finish before moving onto the next ꦗbig thin𒁃g, but if Astro Bot plays its cards right, we could still be talking about and playing it for a very long time. I’m ready to say farewell once the speedrun levels are conquered, but there is so much more left to be mined from a game this magical.
