About Tallis Spalding

Tallis Spalding is a Contributor from the United States. She has recently obtained a MA in history but continues to pursue her love of video games and writing. She plays a wide variety of games, from JRPGs to Cozy Farming Sims to Tabletop Games. Some of her favorite aspects of games is when they have a unique and immersive worldbuilding, allowing the player to get really invested in the world around them. She enjoys taking the time to learn not only the lore of a game, but what its inspirations were, so that her time playing might be more fruitful.

 

Proudest Gaming Achievement

Getting 100% in Octopath Traveler 2. Defeating the "netherworldly threat" was an actual nightmare. It quite literally took almost eight hours and more than a few tears to get through the fight. It was slow progress, but at the very last, I was able to get that 100% achievement on Steam. I'm proud of it, but it's not something I want to do again.

Favorite Games

Although my favorite games are a regularly revolving list, at the moment, though, I'm fascinated with Fallout: New Vegas. There's a lot of content to explore and it really lets me unleash a more chaotic side. The Ides of March is every day when I play New Vegas.

Other games that I always look to for a good time are Stardew Valley, Yakuza, and Banishers: Ghosts ofꦡ New Eden.

Industry Focus

I absolutely adore RPGs - the more immersive a game is and the stronger the lore, the more I find myself absolutely in love with it. However, I'm willing to dip my toes into just about anything, so long as it's enjoyable or I have a friend to play with.

I frequently find myself gravitating toward queer media and find myself absolutely in love with most games th𒊎at have LGBTQIA+ themes or story elements. More often than not, these types of games find a very warm spot in my heart.
