An Avengers/Fortnite Mash-Up Event Begins Tomorrow - PUBG Doesn't Feel So Good

For a limited time, players in Fortnite can find the Infinity Gauntlet and become Marvel ultra villꦫain Thanos.

It's time to throw down the gauntlet. And then pick it up right away, because that is the Infinity Gauntlet, and wearing it transforms you into Thanos, the Mad Titan. The Fortnite Battle Royale 🅰event starts May 8th, allowing players to join the "Infinity Ga✱untlet Limited Time Mashup" mode.

, it looks like a regular Fortnite match from the outside: 100 players paraglide all over an island, grabbing guns and supplies, and are forced to murder one another as the battlefield gradually shrinks. This time around, though, the Infinity Gauntlet is hidden in the map, and the player who can find and equip it becomes Thanos, the Mad Titan. Then the match transforms into an all-out battle to destroy the Mad Titan before he can, well *spoilers*

Apparently, the Russo brothers - directors of Avengers: Infinity War - are pretty big fans of Fortnite. Speaking with EW, they said that 🦹they would take breaks for post-pr🐟oduction of the movie to play a few games.

The mashup makes a lot of sense, to be honest - Fortnite's characters are pretty superheroic, and the ability to rapidly construct defenses is rather Iron Man-esque. Beyond that, Thanos being able to step into a completely different universe isn't a stretch - he does possess the Reality Stone, after all, and can presumably hop from one reality to the next. Could the meteors that recently shook up Fortnite's island🐓 ⛄have actually been fragments of Titan's obliterated moon?

One thing is for certain - PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Fortnite's direct competitor and ancestory, isn't feeliꦆng so good right now. Maybe they can score a lucrative crossover deal with the DC universe. Two unwanted media franchises, working together - like some kind of Suicide Squad.
