Horizon Zero Dawn: The Board Game was initially supposed to be rel🉐eased in March 2020, but there were some delays, and the date was pushed back to September 2020. Unfortunately, production was halted again by Steamforged Games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The UK-based company had to go into lockdown, and all the staff had to work from home. Even the factories they'd typically use to make the games either had to close or adjust their working hours.
According to a recent press release from Steamforged Games Ltd, the campaign restarted on May 29 and gave previous and new backers the opportunity to pledge more. People who pledged the original campaign would have the chance to change their pledge to get some of the expansions. New backers will only be able to pledge to the "All in" level at t♏he cost of £280. This is the highest level and includes the full game and all the expansion packs.
The board game will allow players to choose from the various tribes and classes of hunters, and then begin an adventure to hunt down certain mechanical beasts. The hunters will be able to buy different weapons and equipment from merchants along the way to help them deal with different situations. The base game only features four hunters and an array of beasts. The expansio🌱ns add more enemies, larger beasts, and more weapo🐬ns.
The original Horizon Zero Dawn was made by Guerilla Games as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. The game is widely acknowledged as one of the best games on the platform and has won numerous awards. It follows a young huntꦇress called Aloy as she naꦆvigates her way through a post-apocalyptic future in which machine beasts roam the land, and humanity has gone back to old tribal ways.
The new board game promises to 🌊bring the same characters and beasts into a🔥 new format and maybe expand on the lore. Since the production timeline has been extended, the base game is expected to come out in November 2020. The expansions and add-ons are expected to drop in July 2021.
