From textures not loading to huge delays in combat, players are calling on Larian to fix patch 4 so they🍃 can finish their campaigns.
PC players might be in luck, as fans have found an unofficial fix that might make things more playable until the next update is rolled out. However, with console users unable to enact these changes, they're still reporting issues with the visuals and game behaviour, further frustrating a final act that had already proven buggy since launch.
"Since patch 4, the entire environment in Act 3 [has] shut down," Larian forums user Syraxfyre. "Companions do not follow Tav, NPCs walk🐼 in place or completely vanish, unable to interact with anyone or anything, unable to select different companions, cannot save, and cannot reload.▨ The lag will resolve for about 15 seconds every 10 minutes."
Patch 4 was rolled out on November 4. Given the time between previous patches, we might get another one soon. We've had two hotfixes since, but they don't seem to have addressed these Act 3 concerns.
Others very much agree that this is an issue. "I was 💙on my second playthrough, and the game is unplayable reaching Act 3," rosecoloredxboy on Reddit. "Literally pass🍎ing the Basilisk Gate is when your party will stop following and start to lag."
It's a similar story on PS5, although not as dramatic. Some say it's far from an unplayable state, but still laggy enough to cause frustration. Indeed, having just booted up my first playthrough again on PS5, assets are taking much longer to load in than they would usually. There are also some really long wait times in combat, much more so than I'm noticing in Acts 1 and 2 on other playthroughs.
However, if you're on PC, there might be a way around this. Being a console player, a lot of it goes over my head, but the instructions are laid out here in a lot of detail if you want to try and fix it yourself.
Since this won't be of much use to console players - including those who will probably be playing on Xbox soon - many will be hoping that an official fix is rolled out as soon as possible. Hopefully, it will come before 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Xbox release, since that won't be until at least December 7, when Larian is taking to the Game Awards stage to announce the release date. So far, there's no word on when the next patch or hotfix will go live.
