With the key in hand, open the door to the area behind the distillery.
While there are numerous chests and ingredients to loot here, your goal is sitting on the desk to your left as you enter this area. Read the book there.
To receive the recipe, you'll need to pass a DC14 Investigation check ඣto make it out through a purple stain. If it doesn't work 🍷with one character, you can pass it to another to try again.
Upon a success, the recipe will be added to your learned recipes. However, you'll need one key ingredient you cannot normally find in a playthrough up till this point: Corpse Rose Petals.

After successfully reading the notes at the Waning Moon, you can now travel to the marked location on your map. It should lead to a place marked as the "Brewer's Alchemical Stash."
The fastest way to reach it is by running from the Road To Baldur's Gate waypoint and traveling north to the abandoned barn.
On the right side of the barn and behind a haystack, you'll need to pass a passive Survival roll to find a spot you can dig. You will need a shovel for this.
Dig up the treasure chest within to receive a single Corpse Rose and become one step closer to concocting the Purple Worm Toxin. You need three Corpse Roses to make the toxin.
To get the rest, you can check the caskets within the Morgue (we♍st of the House of Healing) to loot for Corpse Roses, though this appears to be based on RNG. Good luck hunting!
If you struggle with finding enough Corpse Roses and sincerely want Purple Worm Toxin, you can also buy or loot the toxin from Sister Lidwin, the merchant assistant in the House of Healing.
