Baldur’s Gไate 3: All Points Of No Return, Explaiꦯned
Make sure you've done everything you wanted to bef𝔍ore going past these points in Baldur's Gate 3.
It doesn't pick up again until toward the end of Act 2, where you find the Nightsong chained in the Gauntlet of Shar. It turns out it's not a treasure at all. It's an Aasimar and a daughter of the Goddess Salune. After a long fight with Balthazar, you'll have the choice to kill the Nightsong or set her free.
How To Save The Nightsong
Saving the Nightsong is easier, depending on your relationship with Shadowheart. When Shadowheart first tells you her intentions to kill the Nightsong, you may be tempted to argue with her about it right away. Instead, tell her to do what she thinks is best.
The Nightsong will then press the issue by confronting Shadowheart about her past, including something she only shared with you. The wolves that "attacked" her in the woods when she was a young girl. This will allow you to talk Shadowheart out of killing her without makin💯g the chunky DC 30 Persuasion check.
If you do fight Shadowheart on the issue and make the Persuasion check, failing it will mean a fight with Shadowheart or letting her kill the Nightsong unless your relationship with her is high.
If this is the case, you can tell Shadowheart that you don't agree with her decision but can't afford to lose her. This will lead to her throwing her weapon over the platform's edge instead of finishing off the Nightsong.
Consequences Of Killing The Nightsong
The fate of the Nightsong is a huge part of Shadowheart's companion quest. When you find the Nightsong, she will insist on sacrificing her to the Goddess Shar. If you allow her to do what she wants, Shadowheart will become a much darker character.
- It's safe to say that she will be somewhat evil-aligned from here on out. Not surprising, considering that Shar is an evil deity. However, Shadowheart will fulfill her dream of becoming a Dark Justiciar, for better or worse.
- Furthermore, if you're romancing Shadowheart, you may want to talk her out of killing the Nightsong. If you let her do it, she'll tell you that the only love she has room for now is her love for Lady Shar. That means she'll no longer have time for you, and you won't be able to continue the relationship into Act 3 without making certain choices.
- The Nightsong has a minor and yet, crucial role in the story. Isobel can't hold a protective shield over Last Light Inn forever. If you don't save the Nightsong, Isobel will eventually drop the shield, resulting in the death of everyone at Last Light. That includes Jaheira, who is a potential requitable companion and Dammon, who is linked to Karlach's quest. Without him, you won't be able to cool off her engine.
On a lesser note, a lot of your good-aligned companions will disapprove of you allowing Shadowheart to kill the Nightsong.
Consequences Of Saving The Nightsong
There aren't really any negatives of keeping the Nightsong alive. She'll gift Shadowheart a powerful spear, and more importantly, she'll help you in your fight with the final boss of Act 2, Ketheric Thorm.
Ketheric Thorm is the main antagonist in Act 2 of Baldur's Gate 3. Jaheria will ask you to infiltrate the Moonrise Towers and get on Ketheric Thorm's good side, so you can learn how to end his immortality and kill him.
It turns out that the Nightsong's capture is what's keeping him from dying. He's using her immortality to fuel his own. Freeing her or killing her will allow you to finish him off, but you won't have an easy time of it.
Kethric Thorm has a lot of adds that make his fight challenging. He has several undead, Intellect Devours, and a Mindflayer on his side. Each turn, he'll command his troops to focus on one of your party members. We have a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:full guide on how to defeat him here.
If you free the Nightsong, she'll fly off to help you in the fight. While this won't trivialize the fight by any means, it will make things a lot easier.
At the beginning of the encounter, Kethric will have the Nightsong chained up. You'll need to send someone over to perform the help action to set her free. Until you do, you won't be able to damage Kethric. Once you help her, she'll join the turn order.
After you finish the fight with Kethric, the Nightsong will join your camp and vow to help you in the fina༒l battle, giving you a potentially powerful ally at the end of the game.
