I spent plenty of time in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Baldur’s Gate 3 character creator, but I’ll be the first to admit I spent much longer 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:creating the perfec🥂t looking character and coming up with her con🎉voluted backstory in my head than thinking about the rules she’d use or the class she’d come to inhabit. I knew I didn’t want a Rogue because I’m playing a swashbuckler in my current D&D campaign. I didn’t want a Bard because they’re boring, and I was vꩲeering away from magic on my first playthrough because I didn’t want to overcomplicate things.
I knew what I didn’t want more than what I wanted. I ended up as a Ranger, hoping to support my party from afar and stay out of danger, but to be honest I didn’t r🥀eally know what a Ranger did, and Baldur’s Gate 3 didn’t do a great job of explaining it. Now I’m gathering my party together and levelling them up, I realise that many of my skills are redundant and I’m probably the least useful member of my own campaign.
I’m mostly picking party members based on their characters rather than their skills, but I do keep in mind that I don’t want an all-fighter party or something silly. At the moment I’m running with 💞Lae’zel (for some powerful fighting and because I kinda vibe with ho♌w much of a dick she is), Karlach (she needs no explanation), and Astarion (because who doesn’t want a sexy vampire man chomping on your neck every night?), but I know I want to make a space for Halsin soon. I was gutted to leave Shadowheart behind but she wasn’t pulling her weight, Gale is getting nowhere near my adventure, and Wyll has just turned interesting, but there’s no room at the inn.
I’ve written about 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:my struggles picking a party before, and came to th🌊e conclusion that I’ll ultimately have to get to know the other companions on repeat playthroughs, but that doesn’t solve my other problem: I’m useless. I get that I’m only level five and there’s plenty of options ahead of me, but none of my skills feel useful. Am I contribut♎ing to the party at all, other than a few arrows fired into combat scenarios?
Lúthien does decent damage, to be fair to her. The Sharpshooter skill means that when she hits her mark, she nearly always takes out a Goblin, El🔴f, or whichever human-sized target she has in her sights. However, I think I made an error by giving her Beast Master. It’s a skill that I’m yet to find a use for, despite trying to send numerous rats down holes and bringing along plenty of cats as travelling companions. With Halsin soon to join the party, too, I don’t think I need to double up on animal handling.
I think it’s time to speak to Old Man Withers at camp. I’ve saved up a bit of gold and the undead abomination will let me re-spec. I’ve reached a point where I have a far better understanding of all the Baldur’s Gate 3 classes, and I know what my ideal party will look like when it comes to companions. I can find my own niche that will help me thrive in this messed up world, and Lúthien will be lo💝st no longer. I’ll be gutted to lose out on my little cat pal, but if I can be a more influential character in my own story, then I’ll happily say goodb😼ye.
