So, we killed my bard off in our campaign (Gerard of Way, you will be missed), and replaced him with Gertrude, the retiring cleric who wants one last adventure. She spent her life healing the sick, wandering from settlement to settlement to offer her services. For free! She&r♎squo;s a saint. But a bit of my Dark Urge playthrough later and she’s a horny cougar with a taste for blood. Literally.

Between looking for spells and talking my way into camps, I have two unrel♕ated Baldur's Gate 3 stories about cow dung
I’ve drank blood from fresh tiefling corpses, even filled a goblet with some for a swig, and necked down some poison just for the hell of it. I also stomped on a dead tiefling’s horn so I could rip it off as a souvenir, and pocketed an umbrella made out of tiefling skin. As a tiefling herself, Gertrude should probably be a bit uncomfortable stumbling across so many of her species lying dead, especially as someone who has dedicated her life to saving others, but here we are drinking tiefling blood, using tiefling skin, stealing tiefl💎ing horns. What have I become?
Simply put, the Dark Urge infiltrated Gertrude. It’s another universe, another story, and another character entirely, but playing as it in Baldur’s Gate 3 put me into the mindset of, ‘What is the most ****ed up thing I can do at any given moment?’ I did a good playthrough, even if I messed it up, and now I’m trying my hand at unforgivable evil, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:siding with Minthara, Astarion, and a very reluctant Shadowheart who is drinking through the slaughter. In the midst of this playthrough of horrors, taking the evil route became second nature, and jumpin♛g into D&D, that didn’t change.
Luckily, we have two paladins (one keeps forgetting they’re a paladin, mind) who are keeping me in check so they don’t lose their power, but if they weren’t there, I’m pretty sure I’d be sacri🃏ficing merchants to an altar just for the thrill. Instead, I’m resurrecting corpses as zombies and making them kiss the paladins. This is what you get for being a goody two shoes.
I’m aware that I’ve turned Gertrude from a sweet old lady into a cutthroat monster, throwing roleplay out the window, but that&ꦇrsquo;s the thing with the Dark Urge - it’s so fun to be bad. Baldur’s Gate 3 punishes you for your villainy time and time again, cutting off potential quests and souring relationships with your party, but the moment-to-moment decision-making is hilarious as you lean into the absurd and play off the reactions of those around you.
Seeing party members look on with disgust and confusion at what your character views as blissful normality ♚just makes each interaction that much more engaging. In Baldur’s Gate 3, I’m licking dead spiders. In D&D, I’m offering to piss on a rusalka cause someone in our party keeps asking us to. I mi🌟ght mess something up, annoy the wrong person, or end a potential questline, but I’ll worry about that later.
I’m sorry to my party that Gertrude has apparently lost all of her senses and seemingly been possessed by some abhorrent spirit, but as long as I’m doing the same in BG3, I can’t see her changing. Maybe this was in her all along and the cleric act was her way of trying to suppress the urges, and now she’s free to act out how she likes. I don’t know, I’m just excited to drink another vat of blood in our next session. Maybe I’ll try loxodon.
