One of those key aspects is just how high your character can ascend in terms of levels. Originally, Larian said that they were going to cap Baldur's Gate 3 at 😼level 10, but it turns out that might no longer be the case.
In an interview with , Baldur's Gate 3 lead systems de𓆏s🌌igner Nick Pechenin said that they're still deciding on a level cap, but the higher you go in levels, the harder it gets.
"We're kind of trying to size the amount of content that we have to ♑put in and we are able to put in at high enough quality," Pechenin said after he was asked about lev﷽el caps. "But for the entire game, it hasn't been set in stone so far. We just know it’s a massive, massive amount of things to come up with and the higher you go in levels, the harder it gets.”
Besides the o🌼bvious problems of needing to code for ever-increasing class and racial abilities, one of the big problems with higher levels is higher level spells. Wish, for example, is just so open-ended that it cannot be coded into a gam🅘e with any reasonable facsimile to the tabletop.
"What do we do?" Pechenin asked. "Do weꦗ accept emails from people with their wishes and quickly patch the game?”
Another aspect of D&D that provides problems to PC game makers is the reaction system. As of right now, Pechenin said that Baldur's Gate 3 will let characters set what reactions they want to take and ha🔯ve them trigger whenever that condition is met. This keeps the action flowing, but also removes the player's ability to decide whether they want to take a particular reaction or not.
