I’m living it up in the mythical world of Dungeons &a🐷mp; Dragons now, and I couldn’t be happier with how it keeps me on my toes and throws curveballs like nobody’s business.

Don’t be ashamed of mashing that Quick Load option over and over again in fear of facing the consequences of your own actions, because sometimesꦺ they’re made to keep you on your toes. I’m often jumping into the menu when a die roll goes wrong, or I accidentally turn an entire camp of Goblins against me by choosing a spicy conversation option, but sometimes it’s more fun to go with the flow and see what happens. No harm in it.
I threw caution to the wind as I tried to balance the pressing tasks of murdering three goblin l🎐eaders while also saving the Grove from some Druid raci🙈sts who wanted nothing more than to embrace religion and kick all the Tieflings out purely for existing. I’ve no room for racism in my fantasy world, so I set about doing the right thing and bringing them all down. How I went about it though was entirely unexpected and incredibly chaotic.
Priestess Guts was a leader I was tasked with either sweet-talking to join my cause or murdering outright to save my good friend Halsin, who decided to hide in the basement because turning into a bear morphs him into a murderous fool. Not that I was much better as I locked the door, beat th🍸e Princess to death, and stuffed her corpse in my pocket to make sure nobody could see it. This didn’t go to plan as her colleague walked in, noticed several pools of blood on the floor and began asking questions. I tried to bribe him, and next thing I knew I had a fight on my hands. Minutes passed, and I killed about 20 goblins as I walked out in a mess of blood and loot.
The mission was complete, but definitely not in the way I intended. But the game didn’t have a problem with it so long as the objective was struck off, and I had fun. Similar chaos ensued as I tried to push Kagha into a bottomless pit instead of engaging i🌊n the politics of saving the grove from her irresponsible clutches. As luck would have it though, I was able to pass off an act of attempted murder off as a silly little prank. I pushed you violently towards the edge of a cliff for nothing but a laugh, and funnily enough she forgave me.
A second shove didn’t quite go down as well however, and next thing I knew the entire Grove was slaughtered, and we’d won the day. Not in the most constructive or diplomatic way, but we can clean up the corpses and forget this ever happened. This is bullshit of my own making that the game punished me for in the delivery of combat encounters I had little chance of winniꦬng, but with ingenuity and a lot of patience I was able to emerge victorious. Anything could have happened due to my own reckless actions, it just so happened all of my options resulted in lots 🦩and lots of death.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a game defined by its experimentation, and sometimes that allows you to make decisions that turn several factions against you and result in several occasio🧜ns of very blatant mass murder. But it’s cool with that, so long as I don&rsquo🍸;t mind all the consequences.
