What's an RPG without choices? 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Baldur's Gate 3 quickly became a staple of what video games of the genre should be like — or video games in general, given its quality, but that's a different conversation. One of the many reasons this is the case is the number of ways you can handle certain situations, from how to deal with encounters to decisions that strongly alter the story.

Add some spice to your next BG3 playthrough.

These changes are so significant you can't even see everything the game offers in one playthrough since certain choices can cut or give you different content to explore. It's time to talk about some of those changes and some of their consequences.

We'll avoid details to a certain extent, but there will be spoilers ahead.

9 Your🦄 Alignment ✃

Minthara and Karlach, two companion options from Baldur's Gate 3

The game doesn't have an alignment mechanic, but whether you want to be good or bad will essentially dictate every main choice we'll talk about here, so it is worth mentioning. This will affect your relationship with most characters, from both NPCs to companions— there are exclusively good and evil companions, while some can be saved or corrupted — and your allies (or lack of them) 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:highly affect the end of the game.

The game is also very adaptable for a more neutral spectrum or nuanced evil, where you can pretend friendship until the relationship no longer offers you any benefit. This game can be a hero's journey or a big, bad, evil guy origin story.

8 ♎ Custom Origin Vs. Dark𝄹 Urge

The Dark Urge in Baldur's Gate 3

Still before you start playing the game itself, you have three options when creating a character: Custom (aka make your own character), Origin, which turns one of the initial companions into the main character, or the Dark Urge, which is also a 'make your own character' but with a twisted backstory.

Taking this backstory changes the game a lot, creating different dynamics, having more characters die during the campaign (watch out for companions), and combined with whether you want to be good or not, you already have four exciting options: Good Custom, evil Custom, embrace the Dark Urge, or resist it, and they'll all give you unique experiences.

Origin characters are also a fun option, though less significant than the other two. Still, you can have fun interactions between the companions when you're one of them, creating unique relationships you won't see if Tav (the Custom character's default name) is around.

7 Dealing With The Emerald Grove 🐼

Baldur's Gate 3 Emerald Grove

Your first main objective — escaping nautiloid aside — is the Emerald Grove problem, where a group of druids is giving refuge to Tieflings while they 💫have to deal with Goblin attacks. The main idea would be choosing a side between the Grove and the Goblins, which you can do, but it goes much deeper.

Before adding the Goblins to the situation, you can decide what to do with the Tieflings and the Druids, as they are not getting along. You canꦍ help both sides make peace; you can choose a side and kill the other, or you can kill everybody just fo▨r the sake of it.

Now, thinking about the Goblins, you can take care of them before they pose any real threat to the Grove, but you can also have the fight against the Goblins take place at the Grove so that you can have backup or, as mentioned, you can ally with the Goblins and help them raid the place. All options are compelling, and you get to strategize here if you're evil, turning Tieflings and Druids among one another before raiding the area with the Goblins.

Some NPCs from the Grove will remain throughout the sto🥀ry and help you out, but for that to happen, 🐼they have to survive this part, so choose your friends carefully.

6 Dealing With The Ironhand Anඣd The Gondians

Throughout all three acts, you'll deal with Deep Gnomes, where you can choose to save them or just ignore the situation, which will not end well for them. Still, not only will you lose some fun characters to have around, as Barcus is a cool NPC and has a good character arc, but you'll lose many characters and quests if you ignore them.

Helping them out is not the only other option, though, as they'll lead you into direct confrontation with powerful enemies from Act 3, the Steel Watch, which will show you another faction, the Gondians, who are rivals to the Ironhand — the Deep Gnomes you've hopefully saved thus far. They lead to compelling moments and good allies to have around.

5 Dealing With Isobel ൩

Isobel, white haired human in silver robes

A simple character holds the fate of many, as Isobel's magic protects an entire group of people at the Last Light Inn, and that protection can extend to you. She will help with most of the cursed areas, and doing the good route here will likely lead to helping out a pixie who will protect you against the remaining areas.

Still, the game will drastically change if you kidnap her for the bad guys or fail to protect her from being kidnapped. The inn will no longer be safe, and ꦉmany characters will be doomed to the curse — which will now be impossible to be 🌜ridden off — and will cost future quests and possible companions. Good or bad, we do not recommend losing Isobel — even evil characters have to be pragmatic.

4 👍 Dealing With Theꦚ Nightsong

The fate of the Nightsong will change some encounters, like the end of Act 2, influence a quest on Act 3, and determine Shadowheart's path entirely. This would be the moment to decide whether you want to help your favorite cleric redeem herself from worshiping an evil deity or let her embrace the darkness entirely.

You'll 🐈need to decide whether to save or kill tღhe Nightsong in Baldur's Gate 3, so we break down the consequences of each choice here.

Keep in mind that her fate will also affect everybody at the Last Light Inn, and her death will also cost multiple people in the process. If you want to be a good character and help Shadowheart out, the Nightsong should definit✨ely live in your playthrough.

3 🍃 Dealing 💎With Karlach

Truth be told, all companions have important decisions that alter their stories significantly, but Karlach takes an interesting position here because of how she 🍬can affect the main story as well, depending on h🍸ow much she likes you, romantically or otherwise.

Being evil, killing her earlier, or not helping her out with her engine will lock a big decision near the end. To avoid big spoilers, let's just say that someone has to make a big sacrifice between you, an NPC, or Karlach. If she is around and likes you, she can be the one to sacrifice herself. As sad as that is, it's the most pragmatic choice, as she's already dying in the first place, so it's an interesting point to consider.

2 ꦏ The Emperor Or T🔴he Prince

Split Image Of The Emperor And Imprisoned Orpheus In Baldur's Gate 3

This is another big debate that causes many ripple effects throughout the end, as the choཧice only appears during Act 3, but you also have some big decisions before the end itself. You can h🦄ave one of two major allies here: a Mind Flayer with a will of his own or a Githyanki legend.

In Baldur's Gate 3, trust is a perilous quest.

Sadly, these two won't coexist. Choosing the Githyanki will make the Mind Flayer an enemy, and choosing the Mind Flayer will kill the Githyanki, causing different endings when you get to defeat the final boss. Choose carefully.

1 Dealing With The Final Boss ꧑

The way you handle the final boss is a big decision; what a shocker. Depending on your allies, companions, and who you chose from the previous entry, many different outcomes can help just to get here in confrontations that can be particularly difficult without help. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Or potions.

Still, this is the moment yo🌸u caꦿn save the world, dominate the Illithid army, or even become a thrall yourself, given who you choose to put your faith in. Not to mention the conclusion of your companion arcs as the main threat is over.
