Unfortunately for those people, new saves made with Patch 8 installed aren't compatible with Patch 7, or possibly the future Patch 8.

Not much later, Larian managed to pull the update from PS5 and began cleaning up after this little farce. , they advise those that have accidentally downloaded Patch 8 to completely delete the game from their consoles. If you check the bottom right corner of the main menu and see either "version 01.800.000 o🅺r 4.1.1.6583053", then you've installed Patch 8.

You can then redownload th🙈e game from scratch, and you should then be back on Patch 7. Unfortunately, if you've overwritten a save with Patch 8 installed, then you might have to kiss your playthrough goodnight. Larian doesn't provide any answers for people in this predicament, though you could also keep playing and cross your🀅 fingers your new save will be compatible when Patch 8 rolls out.
