After a long wait168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Baldur’s Gate 3 is finally available…at least the first chapter. Gamers have been given early access to this highly anticipated and long overdue sequel to Baldur's Gate 2. Most players of the early access offering of Baldur’s Gate 3 have commented on the wonderful job Larian Studios did with the Baldur’s Gate license; which is no surprise to anyone who has played a game in the series. However, even the best of games have their flaws, and Baldur’s Gate 3 is no exception.

This list will focus more on problems/complaints that ⛄are seemingly universal among players. So, complaints along the lines of Infinity Engine purists wishing for pause-able real-time combat (like the originals) versus the turn-bꦜased combat of part three will not be included.

10 Dodge?

One feature present in the rule-set is an upgrade to the Dodge action. D&D players know how valuable this ability can be when their character is at death’s door and trying to stay alive long enough for the party’s cleric to render aid. One common complaint among those who have played through the early access is that the Dodge ability has not been implemented very well in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Baldur’s Gate 3…actually, it wasn’t really implemented at all. The Dodge action would be a very, very welcome addition to the final release of Baldur’s Gate 3.

9 ♛ Early Difficulty

One thing players remember about the original Baldur’s Gate (and Icewind Dale) games is how well the difficulty was scaled as the player progressed through the game. Something a lot of players are complaining about in Baldur’s Gate 3 is how difficult the fights are when first starting. Having weak characters at the outset of a D&D adventure is nothing new, but the early fights in this 𒁃game can seem a bit unfair; especially to gamers new to the 5th Edition rule-set. This problem is lessened a bit through familiarity of the game’s combat system, though one hit kills against your party’s tank is never fun.

8 Dialogue

Baldur's Gate 3 Dialogue

The dialogue system in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Baldur’s Gate 3 could use some serious overhauling. It is handled much like it was in the previous games; meaning onꦍe person speaks for the party while the other members stand patiently in the background without interjecting. This system works fine for single-player games.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was a great opportunity for Larian Studios to try something new. A lot of players have expressed the desire for꧅ the dialogue to be more of a group task – with all players being able to participate if they wish. It would be fun to have the party’s fighter or rogue step into a conversation that has stalled in an attempt to intimidate or blu🅺ff the NPC.

7 ♉ 🤪 Screen Clutter

The game-screen in Baldur’s Gate 3 is loaded with icons, buttons, mini-maps, portraits, text boxes, and progress/stat ba🔯rs. Some have made the comment that the game screen could be de-cluttered a little. Is it really necessary to have multiple displays of the party members’ portraits on-screen? The inventory screen is absolutely chaotic. There is a button to sort the items in the inventory, but this has drawn some complaints as well. The sort button affects the inventories of all party members during multiplay. There should be an option to sort just 🍬one character’s inventory.

6 Crashing And Freezingও

Baldur's Gate 3 Mind Flayer

More than a few players have complained about the game freezing or crashing at certain points. This seems to happen most when major encounters begin. This is always going to be a problem for some PC gamers since PC hardware is a far from standard - unlike consoles. These problems will almost certainly be remedied by Larian Studios for the final release. In the meantime, players having problems with the game crashing or freezin𓆏g can try running the BG3.exe file as an administrator – this helps for those playing on a PC running Windows 7. Another solution is running the game with DirectX 11 instead of the default interface – called “Vulcan”.

5 ꦚ Graphical Glitches

Baldur's Gate 3 Glitches

This is another problem that will probably be addressed prior to the game’s official launch, but for now it’s a problem. Baldur’s Gate 3 has a fair number of graphical glitches and irregularities. In general, these glitches don’t affect the gameplay; however, they do interfere with the player’s ability to immerse themselves in the game world and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:role-playing elements. These graphical glitches are the usual lot and include (but are not limited to); misshapen assets/models, clipping, screen tearing, and🌠 errors with the dynamic lighting system. Like many of these entries this problem is far from “game-breaking”, but it is still something that Larian should try to fix.

4 Dice Rolls ꧑

Baldur's Gate 3 Dice Rolls

The dice rolls shown when using certain abilities/actions is a nice touch. The text window, which shows a character’s attack rolls and modifiers (a hold-over from BG2), is another nice touch. Why wasn’t this done for every action though? The lockpicking action is a perfect example of t🔜his problem. The player is told they either succeed or fail; the rolls for this action are done in secret. It would be useful to know whatꦛ these roll are for determining if an action is beyond a character’s current ability. This also seems like something that could be implemented relatively easily – even at this late stage of development.

3 𒐪 Spellcasting 𓄧

Baldur's Gate 3 Gameplay Screenshot Spellcasting

The spellcasting system needs to be streamlined in Baldur’s Gate 3. It would have been cool if Larian had used the same spell icons that were used in Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2. The new icons are a bit…odd…with many of them resembling an alien language rather than pictographs of the spell 🦄effect.

Another complaint about the spellcasting system is the obtuse way the game handles the ability to cast spells at a higher spell level for increased effect. A simple d🐓rop-down or radial menu that allows players to select what spell level a spell will be cast at is very much needed.

2 💫 Lack Of Characꦬter Customization

Baldur's Gate 3 Character Creation

Larian has hinted that the character creation aspect of Baldur’s Gate 3 will be expanded upon for the official launch of the game. Let’s hope so, because the system is a little too generic for many players. It is not uncommon to se🍸e characters that look almost identical to each other. The ability to alter a character’s facial features, like eye shape, nose and chin shape, and cheek bones is something that has been in games for over a decade now. Put bluntly, there are simply too few choices in voices, as well as face and body shapes from which to select. Also, where are the half-orcs and gnomes? It’s also doubtful many players would object to being able to play a yuan-ti pureblood e🍃ither.

1 It Doౠesn’t “Feel” Like Baldur’s Gate

Baldur's Gate 3 Gameplay Screenshot in Swamp

So far this is the biggest general complaint about Baldur’s Gate 3 – it just doesn’t feel like a game in the Baldur’s Gate series. It feels more like a game in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Divinity series (or Dragons Age series). The Divinity games are some of the best role-playing games of the modern gaming era. So...this isn’t necessarily a bad thing – unless the player wanted a Baldur’s Gate experience and not a Divinity experience. One thing that could have helped with this is using the original games’ sound assets for spells and spellcasting. Larian missed the opp🌄ortunity to permanently etch the phrases “Vita, Mortis, Careo” and “Incertus, Pulcher, Imperio” into the minds of a new generation of gamers.
