Tﷺhat being said, the number of permutations and unique situations available to players in Baldur's Gate 3 means there will always be missed opportunities for unique dialogue.

In an RPG this vast, there will always be sceꦚnarios where players feel their character should have some unique insight, only to be disappointed when there's no unique dialogue or interactions present in the scenario. It's the reality of every RPG, and you can hardly blame Larian for not including every single interaction in the limited timeframe they had to develop Baldur's Gate 3.

Mushrooms? Never Heard of 'Em

One such omission was pointed out recently by . Their character is a druid, with a penchant for all things fungal, given their Circle of the Spores subclass. This subclass utilises spores and fungus to a꧋ugment the power of the druid, and extinguish the life oꦇf the druid's enemies.

In Act One's Underdark, you can encounter a colony of myconids, a race of fungal people. Surprisingly, there's no unique dialogue in this area for Circle of the Spores druids. Indeed, at po♛ints in dialogue, th𝓀e player character seems ignorant of concepts they should be intimately familiar with.

"It's single-han💜dedly the biggest crime in the game, in my opinion," writes the aforementioned Ephemerul. "The myconid colony in the Underdark is so unique and should be such an important encounter for a Druid of the Spores, but here we are, completely dumbfounded and not saying a single thing."

This isn't the only glaring omission in Baldur's Gate 3. As commenters have pointed out, clerics sworn to the god Lathander have no unique dialogue in Rosymorn Monastery, despite the monastery being dedicated to him. You even need to ꦇpass a roll to recognise your own god — someone didn't pay attention in acolyte classes.

However, the fact that there are so few of these instances is a testament to just how much has been included✤ by Larian. It's unfortunate for those who were excited by the potential implications of these two scenarios, but there is plenty of flavour to be found elsewhere in the game.
