If the player successfully resisted their urge and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:rid themselves of Bhaal's influence, Minthara would be furious and break off their relationship if they had started one. Fans hated this change and called for Larian to revert this as soon as possible.
Now, is live and does just that. With the update installed, Minthara shouldn't yell at players who resist The Dark Urge and won't break off their relationship. However, the patch notes also shed some light on how this dialogue found its way into the game in the first place, describing the lines as "legacy dialogue" that was cut during development, but was accidentally reimplemented in an update.
As per the patch notes, here's the description of the fix:
Fixed an issue where legacy dialogue had been enabled unintentionally as part of anoth🍰er line of fixes, in which Minthara would seemingly end a relationship with Dark Urge plaꦗyers who had rejected Bhaal.
This was one of the theories we raised in our initial coverage of the issue. This is because the change wasn't included in the patch notes at all, and it would be a pretty big overhaul to make in a hotfix. Sure enough, Larian is no stranger to huge updates, but ending a romance that many players would currently have active with absolutely no warning seemed to be a bit of an overreach.
The latest hotfix also aims to address game crashes, as well as a bug that made some dialogue repeat, or༺ conversations abruptly end if you kissed a companion.
So, Larian's explanation that this was just cut content that was accidentally triggered in an update does make sense. We know that there's a whole bunch of lines and character moments in the game's files that go unused since characters received rewrites during development. Being arguably the most evil-aligned character in the party, it's not surprising that Larian at one point intended for her to dump a goody-two-shoes Dark Urge.
However, if this is the Minthara that Larian wanted us to see all along, then it seems that she has her limits. As many fans pointed out when the cut content was still live in the game, Minthara has several lines of dialogue where she expresses her hatred towards the gods, so it's not out of character for her to enjoy Bhaal not getting what he wants - even if she loses her personal slayer in the process. She's strong enough to storm Menzoberranzan without it, after all.
