The runaway success of Baldur's Gate 3 has come as a surprise to many - not because its quality is in question, but because it belongs to a genre that many seem too inaccessible to have such wide appeal. Instead, Baldur's Gate 3 has attracted genre diehards and more casual fans, perhaps hooked by the characters 🍷more than anything else.
Now, it's got what is often considered to be the Game of the Year award under its belt. Not bad going for a revival of a series that hadn't had an instalment since Baldur's Gate 2 in 2000.
