I have to admit, I’m a greedy gamer. I haven’t come close to finishing yet, and I’m already dreaming about DLC and expansions. I loved my time with the game but had to put it on hold to play and cover , which I have been doing with an ambient level of dismay. I haven’t been enjoying Starfield as much as many other people out there, as I’ve made clear time and time again. For a lot of my playtime, I’ve been yearnin𝐆g to go back to Baldur’s Gate 3 and continue my adventures, but I’m committed to seeing Starfield through and giving it 🌄a fair shake.
I can’t help but dread going back to BG3, though, because I know eventually I will finish the campaign, and the game will end. I have very mixed feelings about going back to the game over a month after its original release – Iꦰ’m glad that I🐟’ve taken my time with it, because a lot of the game’s bugs have been fixed, but I also really want to know how my story will end, despite dreading the day when it’s over. At the same time, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:it✃ has great potential for r𓄧eplayability, and I know playing the game in a different way the second time around will net me a very different ending and a very different journey, and 🅰I’m keen on exploring tho꧂se possibilities.
What would dull the sting of having finished this excellent game is the possibility of expansions. Yes, I know, I know, Baldur’s Gate 3 is 🅠a massive game that I haven’t even finished yet. It is an incomprehensibly deep and detailed RPG the likes of which we’ve never seen or experienced before. To ask Larian Studios to build even more on top of this makes me seem ungrateful, and the team has already stated that they don’t currently have plans or a roadmap for DLC (I did say I’m greedy.) But I don’t believe that the DL♕C for Baldur’s Gate 3 has to be as huge as we might initially imagine.
Players have proposed that DLC could bring us to different major cities in the Dungeons & Dragons world, introduce new species not from Faerun, or increase the level cap from 12. Studio head Swen Vincke has said that it would be difficult to adapt post-level 12 adventures, but I don’t feel like that’s what players need. What would be far more fun are one-shots, a staple of the Dungeons & Dragons experience. They don&🍬rsquo;t even need to be high-level ones, because combat doesn’t always have to be the focus.
I’d love an opportunity to keep hang♈ing out with my companions after t♏he game’s ending, even if it means we find ourselves wrapped up in the most minor, meaningless hijinks. Give me a fun caper in which we end up at a masquerade ball. Give me an expansion dedicated purely to me taking Karlach out on dates and telling her how pretty she is. More ambitiously, give me prequel stories for the Origin characters.
There are so many more interesting ways Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC could go a𓄧part from exceeding its current level cap, and instead of asking the impossible of Larian, maybe we should just hope that we’ll get more of what Larian is truly great at: storytelling. I want more characters, not more complex gameplay. We may never get it, but it would be an incredible next step for my game of the year.
