EA, Dice, and Nvidia have partnered for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Battlefield 2042 to bring DLSS, Reflex, and ray-tracing to the game on PC. To commemorate, a new trailer has been released that gives us a peek at the title's beautiful, futuristic visuals.
DLSS renders the game at a lower resolution - for example, let's say 1080p. It then uses AI supersampling to rebuild that image at a higher resolution. In this case, 4k. Doing so means you can emulate a higher resolution to improve general performance and framerate when compared to running at native resolution.
Meanwhile, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nvidia Reflex helps to alleviate GPU usage by keeping it in sync with the CPU, improving latency. Alongside DLSS, it will be a boon to performance, doubly so when using the more demanding lighting technique that is ray-tracing. In essence, this is a new-gen coat of paint for Battlefield 2042 players on PC. Granted ꦆyou have an RTX card, that is.
The new trailer shows hellfire raining down on the city, soldiers running through the docks to face an explosion, a man in a paraglider leaping off a crane, gunfights in the park, a helicopter in first-🐭person, tank fighting, and even vehicle chases. It shows all of this with RTX on.
More specifically, it shows Battlefield 2042's ray-traced ambient occlusion. It's a feature that will be available on PC and not consoles.
It's a technique used to make 3D objects realistic as it simulates softer shadows in real-time. It's a replacement for screen space ambient occlusion which you may be familiar with. Typically, it's more demanding and can cause performance issues, but in combination with DLSS and Reflex, the competitive nature of Dice's shooter should be kept intact.
Battlefield 2042 launches on November 19.
