Everyone has their favorite genre of board game. Some people are Clue fans, others are big Monopoly moguls, and there are even a few who swear by Candyland or LIFE. But, what about Anime fans? There might not be a specific genre for these f🥂ans, but there are certain games that fit the bill.
A great game for anime fans feels like you’re playing a story right o🤡ut of the script of your favorite anime with al💜l your favorite cliches. We did our best, dived in deep, and found the best of the best board games out there for anime fanatics to try.
10 Attack 𓆏on Titan: The Last Stand
First up is a board game based on the most popular anime in the world (currently), 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Attack on Titan. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Th🐻ജe final season of the anime is airing now, but this board game has been out for 🦹quite a while. In AoT: The Last Stand, one person plays the Titan, while the rest are th🦩e Scouts.
Most of the game boils down to rolling dice to gain resources than using those resources in a variety of ways to either directly attack the Titan (represented by a great cardboard cutout), set up weapons, or move to a different l🔯ocation. The game is obviously in the Titan's favor, which at the very least is thematically appropriate, which is actually pretty apt for the show, and while it can be a bit complicated at first, there’s a ton here to enjoy.
9 Tragedy Looper ✤
Tragedy Looper’s up next, and while it isn’t a board game based on any particular anime, ifꦍ you’re a fan of thriller, horror, or deduction-cente🉐red anime, you’ll probably adore this one. In it, you’re either the "Mastermind" or a simple "Player", there’s only one Mastermind, but there can be up to three players.
As a player, you'll take on the role of a protagonist of your choosing and work your way through a scenario, going back in time after certain events. In these time loops (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a common trend in video games), you'll be trying to stop "tragedies" from happening to key characters for a number of days at a time, all while the Mastermind t💎♋ries to stop you. Tragedy Looper takes a while to learn, since the mechanics are pretty unique, but isn't all too complicated as far as rules go.
8 💎 🌊 Cowboy Bebop: Space Serenade
Ah, the first of the many deck builder games, but also one of the best, Cowboy Bebop: Space Serenade. Obviously, this is a board game set in the Cowboy Beb♕op universe, an icon of the anime industry, and right off the bat we just have to say that the design of the pieces, cards, and locations in this board game are all beautifully made.
Secondly, The concept of capturing criminals wanted by the ISSP to earn "reputꦍation points", makes total sense and is an inventive way of integrating concepts from the anime into the game. Though it tries some new things with managing your gas, moving from planet to planet, and so on, tܫhis is still just a gussied up deck builder, so take that with a grain of salt.
7 Narut💃o Shi💦ppuden: The Board Game
Like Attack on Titan, the Naruto series also💞 has quite a few different card and board games out there. Today we’re talking about Naruto Shippuden: The Board Game, as it’s probably the most unique one out of the bunch, and also the one people unfamiliar with ꦐthe franchise will enjoy the most.
In it, you’ll each be in charge of one of Konoha’s most recognizable characters and traveling around the Shinobi villages trying to wrench victories from the Akatsuki. All-in-all, this board game is pretty great. It suffers from some of the sam♐e problems that video games do with anime adaptations. But, there’s a lot of different ways to 🅘play, ways to modify the game on subsequent playthroughs, and it’s just a fun co-operative experience.
6 ♛ Sword Art Online🔯 Board Game: Sword of Fellows
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sword Art Online: Sword of Fellows, takes place in the first season of the game, the world of Aincrad, where Kirito, Asuna, and their friends must battle their way out of this VRMMORPG🔴 they’re now stuck🐽 in. Every character has skills they can use, which rely on specific dice rolls, and they can chain these attacks with Kirito, which is an interesting mechanic.
But, sadly, the game✃ suffers from the same problems the anime does, way too much focus and importance put on Kirito. One person always has to play as him, and he's the only one that really feels "important" by the e🅷nd of the game, which is a pretty big flaw.
5 🦂 ဣ Death Note: Confrontation
Here we have another 2-player board game based on the smash hit, Death Note, the show that 168澳洲幸运5开♓奖网:recently,♊ for some reason, got banned in Russia. Death Note: Confrontation is a pretty ingenious game created so that you and a second player can replicate the rivalry between L and▨ Light Yagami (better known as “Kira”). What’s probably the🔯 coolest part of this game are the two individual “notebooks” each of you uses.
It's another deduction game, where the L player tries to narrow down the list of potential Kira suspects while the Kira player tries to keep killing without g🃏etting caught. It’s honestly a ton of fun! Shame about it only being two players, Mello and Near could've easily been added for optional 4-player game modes.
4 ꧃ Masmorra: Dungeons Of Arcadia
Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia is a spin-off board game set in the same universe as Arcadia Quest, another popular board game. In it, you and a few friends each take control o🥃f adorable characters as they try to make their wℱay through a tile-based dungeon (similar to Betrayal at House on the Hill) and level up.
The style of the characters reminds us of something like Maplestory, and the plastic miniatures are top-notch, especially for the price they're✨ asking🌳 compared to some other board games. That said, Masmorra is a simpler game than Arcadꦫia Quest, so take your pick which one to play, based on your own personal preferences.
3 ꦓ Millennium Blades ♉
Have you ever dreamed you were a part of the world of Yu🎐-Gi-Oh? Where you’d spend your life learning and mastering a card game, bringing monsters to life, and sending people to the shadow realm? Well, Millennium Blades is probably the closest you can get, considering it's a board game that doubles as a CCG simulator. Millennium Blades has you “buying📖” booster packs, following each season’s meta, and more to raise your rank as a Millenium Blades master, it’s so insanely inventive.
The card art is fantastic, the mechanics are well thought out, there's a lot of references and jokes, and it’s a ton of fun to play with friends. Of course, the art quality and monster designs aren't quite on parღ with Yu-Gi-Oh, but they stil🌳l do an absolutely fantastic job nonetheless.
2 🦩Tanto Cuore 💮
Tanto Cuore is yet another deckbuilding game for those of you who aren’t afraid to proudly admit their 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:love for anime fanservice. Within it, you take the role of Lord of the Mansion wh🐷o is trying to collect as many quality maids as possible to b༒ecomes the "King of the Maids".
And, in Tanto Cuore, different maid designs are featured on the majority of the cards. Quite honestly, this game works pr൩etty well, and the designs of both the cards and the characters🍌 are exceptionally well made. But, if you’re looking for something to play with non-anime fans, this might not be the best choice.
1 🌜 Sailor Moon Crystal: Dice Challenge
And lastly, we’ve got another dice-based game, this time, for fans of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sailor Moon franchise. The series resurfaced a bit 168澳洲幸运ไ5开奖网:thanksꦦ to the #SailorMoonRedraw Twitter trend, so it seemed like a good time to bring this game up. Dice Challenge is all about dice rolling in the purest sense, and the amount of playable Sailor Scouts or villains is staggering, all of whom have un🧜ique abilities and dice pools.
In this board game, 4-8 players will be facing off, head to head, rolling dice in order to steal the dice from your opponent until one side loses them all. It's a pretty interesting game, with a ton of characters to try out, so we re⭕commend you at least giv✅e it a shot.
