Dragonite is strong competition for the title of best Dragon/Flying-type pseudo-Legendary, but Salamence makes a solid case for it, too. It has the exact same ability choices as Gyarados, but it's more versatile in that both abilities are given near-equal attention.
It's also quite versatile in that it can be either a physical or special attacker, having sufficient stats and the right moves for both styles. It's also not bad defensively, having alright defenses at 80 each and good bulk at 95 HP. Simply put, Salamence is just a no-frills, super-strong Pokemon.
10 Moltres
Aside from the Uber-tier Ho-Oh, other Fire/Flying-types like Charizard and Talonflame have been sporadically viable at best. Moltres's relative consistency despite the horrible typing on paper is a testament to how good it is.

This Fighting/Flying-type will need some help to do its job, but otherwise, it's an excellent late-game sweeper. That help typically comes from Terrain setters, because Hawlucha's best movesets utilize its Unburden ability.
The deal with Hawlucha is to bring it out on a Terrain while holding the respective Terrain Seed, get a Speed spike from Unburden, and sweep away. It's one of the few competitive Pokemon that can plausibly utilize Acrobatics, thanks to losing its held item in this process. As long as potential counters are taken care of, Hawlucha can be a deadly offensive focal point.
7 Skarmory
N🍌ot many Pokemon are as equipped to defensively check strong offensive Pokemon as Skarmory, especially on the🍌 physical end, with its 140 Defense being the highest among all Flying-types available in Sword and Shield.
