The 1912 sinking of the Titanic was a tragedy that made the ship perhaps one of the most famous sea-faring vessels of all time. The White Star Line Ocean liner has been immortalized in movies and video games. Anyone who was around in the late '90s remembers how much of a phenomenon James Cameron's Titanic movie was, and because of it, there has been a plethora of Titanic-themed games since then. It kind of makes sense because 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:people love boats in video games.
Getting a good look at the Titanic now takes a several-hour trip in a submarine two miles below the ocean's surface. Instead of doing that, you can check out these video games featuring the mammoth 270-foot ship. Sometimes these games can give you an up-close look at the ship and, other times, these games find a weird way to make use of a tragedy.
8 ♕ Titanic: Der Tauchfahrt-Simulator 🦩
Yes, simulator games are everywhere, so somebody was bound to make a d🃏iving simulator of the Titanic, right? The w𝐆reck sits so deep on the ocean floor where the pressures are immense, only the most advanced research subs can make their way down there.
Titanic: Der Tauschfahrt-Simulator is a German game that takes you from a research vessel to an actual sub checking out the shipwreck. It's a novel concept for a game, but the graphics are very dated for being released in the mid-2010s and there isn’t a lot of historical accuracy to sink your teeth into. Still, it's rather eerie to be able to dive into the wreck and this game wasn't even trying to be a haunted ship horror game.
7 Hidden Expedition: Titanꩲic 🌃
Released in 2006, Hidden Expedition: Titanic is one of those scavenger hunt games where you have to find artifacts on different missions and through diverse locations on the ship. It's not necessarily a deep or earth-shattering game, but it certainly is an odd setting to have a very casual game like this to have.
Weirdly enough, they also ported this to the Nintendo DS along with the PC. The game appears to mar♓ket its appeal to a much younger audience or someone older just looking for a puzzle game. Still, the DS version makes it one of the rare occasions that a Titanic game was portable.
6 Revenge Of The T🎃itanic
Developed by Ape Apps and playable on pretty much everything out there (in 4K Ultra HD!), this basic shooter game is a weird one. Apparently, the HMS Titanic has risen from the depths and is looking for revenge. You play as theℱ shipwreck - well, the bow of the ship anyway - as it cruises through the ocean blowing up icebergs.
We’re shocked this game exists and even more so, it has been ported to the Xbox Series X/S. The tagline is “The Titanic has returned, and this time, she's angry!”
5 1912: Titanic M꧅y🎉stery
Released in 2009, this game is ano🗹ther one of those hidden object adventure games. Set aboard the Titanic II, a replica of the original White Star Line vessel, you have to foil a plot and find a bomb that has been hidden aboard. You’ll also solve a century-old mystery and save the ship!
This came out for a wide variety of platforms when it was released, and then ported to the Nintendo Switch. We’re not quite sure why the Titanic is such a draw for these hidden object games, and we’re not sure why the Nintendo DS has two of 𓄧them, but here we are.
4 ꩲ Search For The Titanic
Search For The Titanic was released in 1989 for DOS and then later the Commodore 64, just a few years after Dr. Robert Ballard ✅actually found this shipwreck. Created by Capstone Software, this is a simulation that was apparently reviewed for authenticity by the staff of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute for accurac﷽y. That’s pretty cool considering the Woods Hole team was the one to find the actual shipwreck.
The gameplay puts the player into the role of oceanographer who is looking for the famous ocean liner. If you do find the Titanic in the game, you’re rewarded with digitized photos of the actual wreck🌠 on late 1980s PC hardware. We’re not sure how good those photos are, however, because th🐻ose old monitors sure loved hot pink and light blue as colors.
3 Duke Nukem Zero Hour 🅘
There is an unlockable Titanic level on the Nintendo 64’s 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Duke Nukem: Zero Hour, which is just a surreal experience. Zero Hour wasn't like the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:heavily edited version of Duke Nukem 3D but an over-the-sho🌠ulder a൩ction shooter. Realized through the N64’s somewhat muddy 3D textures and blocky levels, you get to play as Duke fighting aliens on the sinking Titanic.
You’ll start the level on a ship above water, but by the end of it, you’ll be swimming outside the ship that had slipped under the surface🎀 of the ocean. Now it’s not historically accurate - like, at all - but there are some cool aspects of the level such as the ship’s pool to check out. Swimming out of the ship once it is underwater also gives you a very weird, dreadful feeling.
2 ൩ Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 🌺
Voyage of Despair is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s first zombie map, and it starts off🌄 with a bang, dropping the players off on the bow of the RMS Titanic just as it hits the infamous iceberg. When making their way through this map, gamerꦰs have to navigate narrow hallways and those familiar with the whole story of the ship will feel right at home.
It seems like the oddest of gaming matches - zombies and the Titanic - but it weirdly is an immersive experience since Treyarch did an amazing job making this map big. We're not joking when we say the map is huge and the level has the whole open deck of this grand ship along with below-deck sections. If you’re a Titanic fan, you might find yourself getting caught by zombies while admiring this level instead of fighting.
1 ✤ Titanic: Adventure Out Of Time ꧅
Released in 1996, Titanic: Adventure Out of Time was a classic point-and-click adventure game of the time featuring FMV videos and 3D-ish rendered environments. Weirdly enough, you play a former British Secret Service agent who travels back in time from the '40s to the maiden voyage of the Titanic where you can actually prevent the start of World War 1.
The game came out before the release of James Cameron’s Titanic movie, but when that cinematic blockbuster was released, Titanic: Adventure Out of Tiꦰme flew off the shelves like hotcakes and would go on to sell 1.5 million copies. Noౠt bad for a time-traveling, period piece put together to show off the impressive features of a CD Drive back in the day.
