For as many Godzilla movies as there are, you'd think 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the world's most iconic kaiju would be swimming in television series both in Japan and overseas, but the pickings are 🅘pretty slim when i🌼t comes to Godzilla on TV.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网: The 10 Best Kaiju Movies

Who doesn't love a good film with a gi𒀰ant monster in it? We quickly go ov🌳er the genre's history and pick up the best ones.

Regardless of why exactly there are so few of them, the fact remains that there are conveniently only ten official series' sporting Godzilla himself as the main selling point. As Godzilla fans, as kaiju fans, and as watchers of television, you know what we need to do now. In the words of Ken Watanabe, we say: "Let them fight." Which Godzilla TV series is the best? And how do the rest of them stack up?

Right off the bat, yes, there is in fact a kaiju-sized elephant in this room, and yeah, we do need to mention it here. Zone Fighter only features Godzilla in seven episodes, and on the face of it, there's a solid argument to be made that Zone Fighter isn't actually a Godzilla TV series at all.

Hence, here we are. Of all the Godzilla series, Zone Fighter is the weakest by default, but enough of the fan base considers the series a Godzilla TV show that we couldn't outright ignore it either. The Godzilla design is a bit thin, a bit lacking in the intimidation department, but it's adorable somehow, and seeing Godzilla and Ultraman shake hands is a pretty magical sight. On its own Zone Fighter is pretty great, but as a Godzilla series, it falls just short of the goal.

Zone Fighter isn't bad on its own merits; it's actually a pretty great time for tokusatsu fans.

However, it only feels like a Godzilla specific series in seven episodes, which is what holds it back in this sp💮ecific ranking.

Godzilland is kind of its own series, believe it or not. The television series, though largely consisting of lost media these days, was split into at least three seasons, those being Adventure! Godzilland, Adv🅷enture! Godzilland 2, and Get Going! Godzilland respectively. Of those three, Adventure! Godzillꦇand is probably the weakest, and yes, we actually went through the effort of finding and watching the show, or at least as much of it as we could.

Adventure! Godzilland is mostly just a live-action trivia show made to promote the then-upcoming film, Godzilla vs. Mothra. Much the same as its predecessor, Adventure! Godzilland 2 is only slightly better, and that's only really because it occasionally adds animated shorts featuring the chibi-fied Godzilla design seen previously only on the series' logo and the odd picture drama ala The Way of the Househusband (but somehow with even less movement). Here though, they are actually somewhat animated, which is nice.

This also means that chibi-Godzilla's design gets a little extra focus, and we're all for it. It's probably the best chibi take on the character we ever got, but anything Godzilland 2 does well, the follow up OVA series Get Going! Godzilland does legions better.

While most sources claim the series had 26 episodes and ran from 1992-1993, this is because these series' are often clumped together into one series instead of being represented as two separate 13-episode series.

For the purpose of this list, we chose to keep them separate to emphasize the difference the introduction of animated segments made for the show's quality.

Godzooky is one of the worst things ever created. He's got to be. He's like a sad 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Scooby-Doo if Scooby-Doo made uncomfortable-sounding groans instead of trying to talk. On top of that, Godzilla's design here is just all wrong, and the whole production has that Hanna Barbera style that was fantastic for its time but makes this show really hard to revisit today.

Godzilla is p𝔍retty ancient, but just how old is this kaiju?

That's not to say the show got everything wrong. It understands the character of Godzilla at least, using the kaiju as a hero rather than just some mindless dinosaur, but that ultimately does very little to save a very dated series from the 1970s, which contains pretty much all the problems you'd expect from a 1970s cartoon. It has its fans, but for the most part, Hanna Barbera's Godzilla isn't the most essential viewing experience for the modern Godzilla fan.

Undoubtedly the best thing to come from the ill-fated Godzilland name was this collection of animated OVAs produced based on the first two Godzilland series. Taking the animated segments of the previous Godzilland series, Adventure! Godzilland 2, as inspiration, Get Going! Godzilland (🦹or just Susume!🐠 Gojirando in Japanese) is an adorable chibi-Godzilla educational program aimed at teaching kids to understand concepts like numbers and letters.

Its cuteness does give it a slight edge over series like Hanna Barbera's Godzilla series, but unfortunately, it can fall a bit flat once the novelty of watching an early childhood development series featuring Godzilla as its main character wears off.

Get Going! Godzilland is an OVA series, so it never actually aired on TV, but most anime fans tend to count OVA series as series regardless, so we've chosen to include it on our list. If it's good enough for Gojipedia, it's good enough for us!

A surprisingly enjoyable time, Godzilla Island features the famous monster at his best in terms of design, and has a wonderfully charming vibe to it too, thanks to the old-fashioned models and sets used to bring it all together. That's good, because Godzilla Island is long. Really long. At 256 episodes, it easily takes the top spot for episode counts among Goji's television escapades.

It is beyond amazing that after years of begging, fans finally got a serious, non-chibi Godzilla anime 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:thanks to Netflix in 2021. It's just unfortunate that the anime we got ended up being Godzilla: Singular Point instead of the anime Singular Point's ending animation alludes to.

Don't get us wrong, the science-oriented realistic take on Godzilla is fascinating, the 3DCG is really well done, and we acknowledge Jet Jaguar being in it automatically makes it at least 67 percent cooler than it would be otherwise, but that doesn't mean we have to be content with how long it took for Godzilla to show up or the overuse of scientific jargon riddled conversation scenes either. Also, yes. Godzilla is dummy thick in Singular Point, and that is pretty strange.

Good acting, a decent score, a dramatic, serious take on the MonsterVerse set in the aftermath of the events of Godzilla 2014, and a supplemental series that helps increase the hype for the MonsterVerse movies? Sign us up! Monarch: Legacy of Monsters may not have Godzilla in the name, but make no mistake, this is a series focused on Godzilla in nature, and it's a pretty good one too.

It's almost absurd to think that a MonsterVerse TV series could work at all with the amount of money it takes to make CGI Godzilla come to life in a believable way, and yet, somehow, Apple TV's original series feels like a blockbuster made episodic. Well, for the most part. Godzilla himself doesn't show up as much as we'd like him to, and there are times where the visuals are pretty clearly lesser than the films, but Monarch still manages to retain the feel of a kaiju drama, and is by far the best live action Godzilla series of the bunch.

It is truly bizarre that the worst film the Godzilla IP has ever released also, somehow, managed to spawn its best television series. It is also, however, a massive shame that the design we're stuck with is the one from the film, the one so bad that it's been given its own official name: Zilla.

That said, Zilla does have his fans, and they're eating pretty good here. Godzilla: The Series is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a well-animated, monster of the week kaiju fight fest that is fresh and enjoyable throughout, even if some aspects of the series do feel a bit dated today. However, some poorly aged comments and designs do little to detract fromꦏ the sheer quality of the presentation and pacing. Let this series stand as a lesson to us all: when life gives you Godzilla 1998, make Godzilla: The Series.
