Magikarps are so common when fishing that you're almost guaranteed at least one in every Nuzlocke. 9 ꦑ Fire Starters
The first real choice in any Pokemon game is what starter to choose. Normally, this would be done based on personal preference, but for Nuzlockes there's a pretty good rule-oไf-thumb: pick the Fire-type.

5 Crobat
In most Pokemon games you can't set foot in a cave without being accosted by an endless amount of Zubats. In most instances, this would be pretty annoying. However, in a Nuzlocke, t💧hese little critters are great news!
With a little bit of leveling and a lot of friendship grinding, you can get a Crobat as early as level 23. Eevee is useful due to its incredible potential to help yo🍰u out of type-specific jams further into your journey. By all means, evolve it as soon as you get it if that's what you want; however, for the best chance of winning, it is wise to wait and see what evolution will be the most useful.
2 Blissey
Possibly the most iconic wall in Pokemon, Blissey has an absurd 255 base HP stat and 135 Special Defence. It has a fantastic TM move⛄pool, with great healing and stalling options. Add the Serene Grace or Natural Cure abilities and Blissey is truly a force to be reckoned with.
Pokemon AI is notoriously easy to get around if a trainer acts smartly. Just make sure Blissey is only ever up against Special𝔍 Attackers and you can't go wrong.
