In the original Pokemon anime, there were high expectations for Ash Ketchum on his way to becoming a Pokemon Master. Whilst he didn't catch as many Pokemon as his rival Gary, he made the most of what he had. Statistically, some of his Pokemon were better by their win ratio, some became stronger over time, and some we💎re just generally overpowered.
However, there were other trainers in the anime that also packed a punch when considering their win ratio. Ash's 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:lack of evolving some of his Pokemon was his Achilles heel when it came to the Pokemon cham🍌pionships, but that doesn't discredit how effective they were throughout the series.
10 🍰 Pidgeot (Ash)
While it spent most of its time as a Pi🍌dgeotto, throughout the anime it was one of Ash's most reliable 𒁏and earliest Pokemon. Despite it not having as much character development as Ash's other Pokemon, it was a consistent early battler and proved effective against Team Rocket and Misty.
Pidgeot's true strength came at the end of the🅘 series fighting off against a flock of Spearow and Fearow in order to protect wild Pidgey. Its tiresome efforts caused it to evolve and become much stronger and was released by Ash in order to continue protecting the Pidgey. Pidgeot's development from early on in the series to its evolution showed true strength and perseverance.
9 Primeape (Ash) 🧜 💫
Primeape was a difficult Pokemon for Ash to control. It wasn't until the P1 Grand Prix fighting tournament that they would finally connect and see Ash 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:entrust Primeape with Anthony.
A✱s a Mankey, its strength i✤n an earlier battle caused its evolution and would later put up quite the fight against Ash's Charmander. Prior to that, it would prove successful against Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. In the fighting tournament, Primeape showed great strength and led Ash to victory. Being entrusted with a more equipped trainer like Anthony would only mean Primeape would become a stronger Pokemon.
8 🐻 Bulbasaur (Ash)
Bulbasaur was one of Ash's 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:oldest Pokemon throughout the anime and would later be left at Professor Oak's lab as a peacekeeper between Grass-type Pokemon. During the original anime, ♛it would prove to be vital in bouts with Team Rocket, a gym battle against Koga, and in the Indigo Plateau.
Bulbasaur would also resist evolution, which clearly cost a chance to improve its stats. For this reason, Bulbasaur cannot be placed higher. However, its Indigo Plateau battle against Beedrill and Scyther proved Bulbasaur to be one of Ash's strongeꦐst Po🎐kemon in competitive battles.
7 Kingler (Ash) ꦍ ℱ
Ash caught Kingl🍒er as a rogue Krabby when he🦩 was without his other Pokemon. It was the first Pokemon of Ash's to be sent to Oak's lab and wouldn't be seen in battle until the Indigo League tournament.
This tournament saw Krabby's first battling appearance and a grue✱ling battle with an Exeggutor caused its evolution to a Kingler. It would then take out the rest of the opponent's team and would only lose once in the tournament to Pete Pebbleman's Arcanine. Kingler's win ratio and strength against a whole team places it above some of Ash's more familiar Pokemon.
6 ꦚ Magmar (Bla✃ine)
In their first meeting, Blaine and his Magmer were incredibly overpowered and defeated Ash's team, including Pikachu. Itꦬs Fire Blast attack proved to be a sure thing and displayed Blaine's Magmar as one of the toughest Pokemon in the show.
Even though Magmar lost in its second battle against Ash's Charizard, it still put up a w🅺orthy fight. Following the Seismic Toss into the lava, Magmar could still stand, if only for a little while. The battles both proved to be some of Ash's biggest learning curves and gave a lot of inspiration to Charizard.
5 Sandshrew (AJ) 🧔
While Sandshrew would be nowhere near the top of a general strongest Pokemon list, AJ's Sandshrew was an exception. It proved quite the foe against Ash's Flying-type Pokemon, which would usually have an aerial advan🔯tage. Sandshrew could adapt to both water with the aid of a strength intensifier brace and aerial attacks that gave 🍌it a huge advantage.
Team Rocket viewed Sandshrew as the toughest Pokemoꦦn they'd seen and aimed to steal it, only for it to later defeat them. It can be considered that 🍸the 100 victories at AJ's gym are largely achieved by Sandshrew seeing as it was his first Pokemon. With a win rate like that, it must be placed on this list.
4 Charizard (Ash) 🐻 🦩
As a Charmander, it was one of Ash's most reliable and strongest Pokemon. After evolving both into a Charmelon and Charizard, it became too overpowered for Ash to control. Despite rarely listening to Ash and causing Ash to lose in the Indigo League, Charizard still ranks highly on this list. Charizard was also the coolest Pokemon at the time in both the show, games, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:card game.
On the rare occasion that Charizard did listen or generally used its Fire-type attacks, it was a powerful Pokemon to have. Its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:battle against Magmar can be seen as one of its strongest moments in the series, showcasing its skill and moveset. Charizard would only get stronger with each episode and its S꧑eismic Toss would always prove effective.
3 Kadabra (Sabrin🐠a) 🔯
Although Ash lost his first battle with Sabrina and Kadabra, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:he should have technically lost the second meeting between the two. Kadabra in their first meeting proved to be a fearsome opponent against Pikachu with its Psychi🏅c-type attacks being super effective. This battle saw🧜 Kadabra turning Pikachu's Electric-type attacks against it.
Their second battle saw Sabrina lose because Ash's Haunt🅰er made her laugh and, through Telekinesis, made Kadabra laugh as well. Kadabꦐra's inability to battle due to laughing may have given Ash the victory, but it doesn't discredit the psychic strength Kadabra held.
2 💜 Mewtwo (Giovanni) 🃏
Giovanni, the Team Rocket leader, was one of168澳洲幸运5꧂开奖网: few trainers to have a legendary Pokemon. Whether Mewtwo was aware or not of its position as a trainer𝔉's Pokemon, it still battled for Giovanni at the Viridian City G♊ym.
Despite Mewtwo not being revealed officially until Pokemon: The First Movie, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:its incredible power was witnessed when facing Gary Oak. It easily defeated Gary's Nidoking and Arcanine with its psychic attacks and took no damage. Mewtwo's str🐽ength alone places it high on this l🐓ist.
1 🐼 Pikachu (Ash)
Even though M﷽ewtwo would technically be the strongest Pokemon on this list, Pikachu's development and commitment places it in first place. Pikachu has continued to be Ash's closest and most faithful Pokemon, with the two sharing a strong bond together. Pikachu's endurance in its battle with Lt. Surge's Raichu was an early sign that it would use its moves to get past any challenge.
Pikach♈u defeated Team Rocket more times than can 🦋be counted and would be used in most gym battles. No other Pokemon in the show shares a bond with a trainer like Pikachu does and there resides its real strength. It also aimed to be better like Ash did and Pikachu's victory count is higher than that of Ash's other Pokemon.
