The masters of parody and gentle mockery of the state of the world, Matt Groening’s legendary series continues to be popular since it began in 1989. One of the many cultural stamps on mꦇodern life that t♏he series often ridiculed was technology, which of course encompassed video games on many occasions.
Either joking on the ability for kids to get their hands on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:extremely violent games, or presenting the polar opposite of mind-numbingly boring games, some of the most memorable🙈 sketches on the show originate here. In 2007’s The Simpsons Game, stereotypical videogame tropes and controversy were largely the central joking point of the plot. 🌠In the program, however, videogames have also had their fair share of fictitious representation, and here are some of the best.
10 Grand Theft Walrus 🦂 ✅
Of🎶 everything The Simpsons predicted about the future that turned out to be correct, they also nailed how we’ve all spent time in Grand ♑Theft Auto. In The Simpsons Movie, several beers down, Homer plays Grand Theft Walrus, supposedly the Alaskan equivalent of the classic series. He drives a sports car as a sunglass-donning walrus and pulls up beside a small penguin. The penguin performs a cute little tap dance, before getting blasted with a shotgun.
Homer’s chuckle is hugely relatable as we’ve all wound up driving around, gun🐽ning down randos for no real reason. Should we be worried?
9 Bonestorm
We don&r🌺squo;t know what we want more: Bonestorm as a game in itself, or the marketing that advertises the game. Depicting two kids that are bored to death with their generic martial artist vs. tank fighter game (which is something else we’d also love to play), their gaming session is about to take a major turn. A ripped, artillery-loaded Santa crashes through their walls and bazooka-launches a copy of Bonestorm into their console.
While volcanoes erupt blood and rain limbs past the screen, players fight it out as multiple-armed orc-like crea꧂tures, lifting, punching, and head-locking simultaneously. Santa then yells, “So tell your folks, buy me Bonestorm or go to hel🎉l!”
8 𝓰 Hockey Dad
A genuinely genius, if frowned-upon concept for a game, Hockey Dad lets players fight it out as angry parents at their kids’ hockey game. Initiated when one kid scores against th🔯e other, the camera cuts to the front row, when Mr. Shadowski hurls insults at Mr. O’Bannon.
The two then take center-stage in the rink 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Tekken-style, obliterating each other with coffee, briefcases, and chairs while their devastated children watch in shame and desperatio🉐n. Things turn dark when Bart insists to ignore the child begging him to stop before the assault escalates to murder. Nevertheless, Mr. Shadowski face stomps his way to victory before being arrested, a hilariously vicious 🍌game that would be undoubtedly controversial by today’s standards.
7 Cereal ♑Killer ꦦ
“Videogames… the reason this generation of Americans is the best ever”, is what Homer muses after instructing Bart to pay full attention to Cereal Killer. The handheld g🐟ame is an FPS shooter where popular cereal mascots are gunned down by the player. Toucan Sam, Count Fudge-ula, Cap’n Crunch, and the Trix rabbit don’t stand a🐼 chance against the player, who is dual-wielding heavy pistols in this clip.
It’s unclear whether or not you&rsq♈uo;re supposed to kill everyone, as Cap’n Crunch is the only one who seems to pose any threat with his brandished sword. Bart seems content, however, exclaiming how he’s “cuckoo for killing stuff”.
6 Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge 🉐 🌼
Surprisingly, this is one of the few games on the list that could genuinely be a popular release today. Fictional golfer Lee Carvallo hosts this golf “game”, which by today’s standards looks like it could be an ironic, meta-168澳洲幸运5开奖网:ASMR project. Carvallo takes players through the options of choosing a club and force of swing, though his constant suggestions totall♚y remove the fun.
When Bart plays the game, he goes against each of Carvallo’s robot-voiced hints, going for a three wood and power drive when only metres away from the hole. The overpowered swing results in the ball landing in a nearby car park, and though ꦫBart swiftly exits the game, we can imagine this game being ironically popular in reality.
5 Escaꦇpe From Death Row
Another edgy but surprisingly innovative concept for a game that appears in the show is Escape From Death Row, a Mario-style platformer that requires players to leap over incoming policemen. Overcoming the law enforcers awards players points, that is until the conservative judge bos💦s approaches, colossal gavel in hand.
After failing to plead insanity, the player can hop to an alternate 🦩state, but unfortunately for the convict, the tel𝄹eport lands them in the Republican state of Texas, landing him in the electric chair. It’s easy to see that Conan O’Brien was the writer behind this episode and the politically-charged videogame mock-up.
4 ꦐ Escape From Gra🌳ndma’s House
Bart, always embraced violence in any videogam🌠e and upped꧅ the ante in this arcade game from season two. Playing as a young boy, stalked by a slow-moving but ever-persistent grandma, the objective is to escape the elderly’s love.
Despite shooting at her with a shotgun, grandma corners the boy. His attempt to hide in a nearby closet are tampered with by pesky mothballs, to which he is eventually caught and kissed by the relative but deemed as an ungrateful grandma. Concept elements of the game have appeared in various 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:survival horror games since, including Reꦑsident Evil 7 and the popular sur💦vival horror Granny.
3 Dash Dingo 🍸
This game couldn’t reek any more of Crash Bandicoot, from it’s jungle-themed music, floating head accomplice, and top-heavy dingo protagonist. Tasked by your Australian antagonist w🍃ith finding and devouring the seven crystal babies ♏or else facing at eternity in didgeridoo, Lisa soon finds herself hooked to the platformer.
Navigating jungle ruins and battling nunchuck-armed koalas, the game is more detailed to its inspired source material than other parodies in the show. In one scene of the episode, the screen is paused on a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kart-racing level that looks very simi𒁏lar in style to classics like the numerous Crash Bandicoot raci🎃ng games.
2 Cat Fight
Perhaps one of the most likely t🎃o stir up some trouble if it existed in real life, it’s not difficult to imagine both why and what the game is about. In the Kwik-E-Mart, Cat Fight was an arcade machine fighte🏅r game where players battle as two angry women.
Battling outside a shoe store in crop tops and short skirts, the women scratch, bite, and pull hair whilst calling each othe✤r “skank” and “slut”.
