Below is a𒀰 list of Days Gone's best weapons, the ones that everyone should be trying to get their hands on✱ once they sit down with a controller in their hands. You may not find their favorite weapon on this list, but you will find those that are best at slaughtering the Freaker horde.

Updated April 10, 2024, by William Quick: Days Gone was one of the bigger zombie names to catch our attention when the PS4 was trying to keep heads turning its way. As an idea, it works quite well since it takes place mostly in the countryside and on the road rather than in huge populated cities. There's more of a focus on traveling, exploration, and maintaining your bike, which may be the closest thing you have to a partner. Unfortunately, you'll still face an inordinate number of non-living, and that's why you'll need to scavenge, craft, and carry the weapons on this list.

20 🅺 Remote Bomb

A Boom In Waiting

When you're traveling through the countryside during a zombie apocalypse, you don't expect to get your hands on much high-tech or high-end weaponry. That's why you and the people you encounter h𝓀ave to be crafty and resourceful to create something as strong🌄 as the Remote Bomb.

Sin💙ce zombies don't need a lot to trick them into going to certain places, the Remote Bomb has surprising utility. You can easily set up traps near zombie nests or near facilities that you'd like to explore in safety, draw out theꦜ hordes, and then bleep bleep BOOM.

19 Machete

Don't Enter The Zombie Apocalypse Without One

Do you rem🧔ember the Zombie Survival Guide? It's a tong🧔ue-in-cheek book that conjures an almost unreal amount of research on a situation that no one, in reality, has ever gone through to tell you what you need to do if it happens. Near the top of that list of things is the Machete.

This modern-day short sword is mainly used as a tool to cl🌸ear vegetation and for harvesting but can be turned on the Days Gone zombies with little effort. It's fast and sharp, and as long as it's maintained, it can last you a large part of your zombie-fighting career.

18 Auto Shotguꦯn

Blast After Blast After Blast

If zombies are appearing and your first instinct is NOT to try and find a shotgun, then you need to watch more movies. Shotguns are known for their stopping power, which is extremely helpful against monsters that don't know the meaning of pain, and the Auto Shotgun wi🍃ll keep th🔥at power coming.

This is a weapon that you won't be able to get your hands on easily since it's con🍰sidered a Special Forces weapon. However, putting the effort into getting one can make you nearly untouchable when confronting the mosh pits of zombies. Aim in the general direction and keep the shots coming as long as you have a full clip.

17 Talon 7

Bird's Eye Accuracy

Talon 𒈔7 sounds more like an organization than a firearm, but this sniper has a bird-related name because this thing can be dismantled fro𒐪m the skies.

It has a rather steep point of entry when it comes to its price, but the accuracy and range it delivers are rarely achieved in Days Gone. They both come at a rating of ten, and though the damage rating is a bit lower than you would like, at a score of four, some of its⛦ other traits do the heavy lifting in their place.

16 Big Game

Perfect For Zombie Hunting

When a weapon has a name like 'Big Game,' that means that it either delivers on that name or the🐬 nam💟e was chosen for comedic purposes. Thankfully, in this case, it's more the former than the latter — this gun holds its own to some extent.

This rifle is rather expensive, but it makes up for it due to its rating꧙ of ten in both accuracy and range. Pair that with a rating of seven when it comes to damage output, and you're looking at a solid gun in its own right.

15 MG45

Heavyweight Continuous Shooting

The MG45 is another gun you can purchase fꦯrom a Hot Springs merchant. It is a light machine gun that is classified as a special weapon. How🐷ever, the gun has a high rate of fire that can make it hard to control at times.

If you have difficulty with aiming, then it is advised that you use the gun only when you're embroiled in close combat, or you can fire off a few shots to h☂it an enemy within close range. Farther distances are going to be harder to hit with a gun like that unless you're very skilled.

14 💧 🐼 Crowdbreaker

PLEASE DISPERSE!

The Crowdbreaker shotgun is one of the best in the entire game. It'll take a little while for you to get it since you can't put your hands in it until you unloc🌺k Iron Mike's camp, 🌜but it's worth the wait.

This gun will be a lifesaver for you because it has a very large amount of ammo, which is a relief for people who understand how much of a pain it is to try and find ammo when you're i𝔍n the middle of a Freaker attack in this game. It is a double-barreled shotgun with a very high firing rate and is great in close combat.

13 SMP9

Small But Fast Power

While not 🔯considered the best sidearm in the game, the SMP9 is still a great addition to your arsenal and is particularly useful as a backup weapon if you run out of ammo for some of your preferred weapons.

It has a hꦬigh firing rate and can be used in a pinch if you find yourself needing to take out a few freaks quickly without having time to pause and go look for 🐷more ammo. You can purchase the SMP9 from the merchant in Hot Springs.

12 SSR

Undeath From Afar

A lot of players love the sniper riflಌes in the game because they give you a chance to do your missions stealthily, for the most part. You'll first get an SSR from Skizzo during the main missio🙈n, "You Won't Be Needing This."

It might seem like you've lost it when the mission ends, but you'll get it again as one of the rewards, and it will definitely come in handy, so try to upgrade it when you can. It's a semi-automatic rifle with a very la🎃rge clip and no reloading between shots, which means you can even use it when you're in the middle of heavy combat.

11 🥂 ဣ Spiked Bat

The Zombie Crafting Classic

Let's start with a classic. The Spiked B꧃at is a melee weapon that can be crafted by putting together a Baseball Bat and a Box of Nails. Not only will you be able to get this weapon fairly early on in the game, bu꧑t it manages to take down most enemies in around two hits.

You will discover better melee weapons as they progress through the story in Days Gone, but this o༒ne will do the job perfectly 🍷for most of the game, so don't feel bad about keeping it around for a long time.
