168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Elder Scrolls franchise is amongst the most well-known fantasy RPGs there is. And what would any fantasy game be without dragons? Indeed, like many similar series, these powerful winged creatures can ܫbe found in many Elder Scrolls titles, espꦿecially that of Skyrim.

And the dragons of Tamriel have played a variety of roles in these games, from allies and friends to rivals and villains. But not every dragon is equal in its impact on the lore of Nirn. Which are the 🉐most fascinating dragons in Bethesda's franchise?

10 🦄🎉 Shulkunaak

After the Dragon War and fall of Skyrim's Dragon Cult, the wyverns of Tamriel scattered and were hunted down in the many eras to follow, whether by the ancient Blades or Akaviri. Shulkunaak survived this, taking refuge in Cyrodiil until the Fugitive of t💞he Elder Scroll: Blades seeks him out.

In-game dialogue suggests Shulkunaak has been a not-so-well-kept secret of the region for quite a while. Therefore, given the Blades' history as dragonslayers, it's a ꩵsurprise that he wasn't hunted down beforehand, and even more so that the game has players spare him. It is not known what happens to Shulkunaak between Blades and Skyrim, but hopefully, the future will provide some answers.

9 🔯 🌠 Kaalgrontiid

The hꦛeart of the ancient Dragon Cult barely stretched itself past what is now Skyrim's lowermost borders. And what for few dragons did escape the Nordic homeland, mainly fled into Hammerfell, High Rock, or northern Cyrodiil at best, and did so throughout the First and Second Eras. So, how did Kaalgrontiid and his fellow dov find themselves so far so🤪uth in Elsweyr, and during the Merethic Era?

Were they sent by the Cult to expand their dom🗹inion, or did they depart for their own purposes? Following his escape from their prison in the Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr, Kaalgrontiid now seeks absolute domination of the✨ land, but his history is still shrouded in mystery and shadow, left unknown and unsolved.

8 ෴ Nafaalilargus

Yet another survivor of the Dragon War, Nafaalilargus, or Nahfahlaar, is one of few dragons to ally himself with mortals. Appearing both in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elder Scrolls Online and Redguard, this dragon has made quite an impact on Tamriel'🔜s history, from helping to reform the Dra༒gonguard (who'd become the Blades) to willingly serving as a soldier of the Septim Empire, and more.

How Nafaalilargus came to hold such fondness for the peoples of Tamriel is unknown, but alas, he is killed during the events of the Elder Scrolls Redguard and has not been seen since. Of course, without the presence o🎃f a fellow dragon or Dragonborn to absorb the dragon's soul, there's alwa𒊎ys the chance Nafaalilargus could be revived in the future, but until then, this draconic ally of man is nothing more than mysterious history.

7 ಌ Durnehviir 💦

Durnehviir, too, survived the Dragon War, but not through the methods of most other dragons. Rather, this dovah was tricked and imprisoned in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Soul Cairn for millennia, until the Dra♏gonborn fights and frees him durinꦚg the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim DLC, Dawnguard.

Being trapped in the plane of Oblivion for so long changed Durnehviir, and he's now the only dragon who could be considered undead, alongside a master of necromancy. Though his past is laid bare to players, what remains shrouded in mystery for him isꦅ his future. For when the last Dragonborn – his only means to ever leave the Soul Cairn – finally passes, will Durnehviir ever return to Nirn again? Or will he remain forever trapped in the Cairn, doomed to eternal decay and madness?

6 Odahviing

Odahviing was actually one of tꦕhe dragons known to perish during the Dragon War, only to be revived by Alduin during the events of Skyrim. During the later stages of the main quest and post-game, he becomes a valuable ally to the Dragoꦦnborn. And hopefully, he'll remain an ally to mortals long after they've passed.

However, more mysterious than any of Odahviing's possible futures is his unexplored past. It is not kn♊own how he came to perish in the Dragon War, let alone where he stood among the ranks of the Dragon Cult. Hopefully, the future will provide answers, but until that time comes൲, fans can take comfort in having such a powerful dragon for an ally.

5 ❀ Paarthurnax

As Alduin's former riꦐght-wing dragon and current master of the Greybear♋ds, Paarthurnax's history is long, complex, and full of tragedy. It's also rich in endless, implied possibilities, from Paarthurnax being Tiber Septim's mentor, to how he taught the first humans the Voice, to what will become of him and the last Dragonborn.

Indeed, during the events of Skyrim, Dragonborns are presented with the difficult quest of slaying this pacifisticꦿ dragon, as penance for his past atrocities under Alduin's reign. While completing the quest is completely up to the player's discretion, many can't help but wonder what future games will hold. Will Paarthurnax be spared by the Dragonborn? Or will he be just another dragon s💯lain by the Blades?

4 Alduin

Skyrim Alduin

As the main antagonist of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Alduin is among the most influential and evil dragons on Nirn. His cruel reign as the god-king of the Dragon Cult led to his eventual downfall, to the Dragon War, and to the eventual extermination of Tamriel's drakes. It also leads to said events of Skyrim, 𒐪and Alduin's showdown against the last Dragonborn.

While the full extent of his reign and the Merethic world is still shrouded in mystery, even Aldu🍒in's future is uncertain. Dragonborns are meant to defeat him at the end of Skyrim's main quest, but he's also the only dragon whose soul is not absorbed by players. He's the only dragon not permanently killed, and as many characters suggest, he may one day return to fulfill his destiny as the World Eater. So, it's only a matter of when, not if, Alduin will return, and that is a future to anticipate and dread all the same.

3 Peryite

Peryite is unique from almost all other dragons. His biggest difference lays in the fact he i💞s ♉a Daedric Prince. He is completely unrelated to Akatosh, and by extension, all other dragons of Tamriel. His next biggest difference is in his draconic form, taking on the more traditional, if not somewhat serpentine, four-legged-and-winged dragon, whereas all other dov – Akatosh included – have been depicted as wyverns.

Of course, being a Daedric deity, Peryite's draconic form iꦓs not his only form, nor could it be his real form. So, ꦜwhy this Prince of plagues chooses to present as a dragon is unknown. Hopefully, the answers will eventually reveal themselves.

2 Akatosh

As Akatosh, Auri-El, Alkosh, or any other name, this Aedra of time is at the center of many a pantheon on Tamriel. And many pantheons – especially the Imperial belief in the Nine Divines – depict Akatosh𓄧 with a draconic form, as often as ma♊n, elf, or beastfolk.

All of Tamriel's dragons even claim direct heritage to Akatosh, despite their destructive, dominant tendencies being the opposite of his benevolent depictions. Like many of Tamriel's gods and spirits, Akatosh's morals and intentions are vague and mysterious, beyond ♋the grasp of mortal minds. Perhaps one day fans will know why Akato♐sh picked his draconic form, and why he created the other dragons. Though, that day seems a long time off.

1 Tosh Raka

Art by .

Tosh Raka is an oddity and a partial exception to this discussion, in that he's never be🌱en a part of any Elder Scrolls game. Rather, he's only been mentioned, as a native to the unexplored continent of Akavir, and leader of the K🐟a Po'Tun.

What earns Tosh Raka this spot is his rumored history, as similar to 🌊Talos, he is supposedly one of few beings to have risen from mortality to the status of a god. But unlike Talos, Tosh Raka is also rumored to not just be a god, but a dragon god, still on Nirn, and still ruling over his people. If these rumors are true, his very existence adds more mysteries to the lore of the Elder Scrolls, dying to be unraveled.
