The role of a henchman is to help their boss achieve their usually villainous goals. And in the video game realm, they also often serve as somebody for the hero to defeat on their way to the boss. Not all henchmen are the same, though, as they come in all different types. Some are simple can💖non-fodder, and the protagonist has to wipe out an abundance of them throughout the game.

Others, however, are true characters that have personalities and goals. These are the type of henchmen that aren't always content with being number two forever. Therefore, they eventually take their boss's place. Here are some of the most notable examples of that happening.

Perhaps calling Cesare Borgia a henchman is a little disrespectful, as he's more than that. But at the beginning of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, he's not the true ruler of the Templar Order in Italy. Instead, his father, Rodrigo Borgia, is at the helm as he was in the previous game.

Soon the two get into a bit of a power struggle as they both have vastly different methods to achieve their goals. Rodrigo prefers to work in the shadows, while Cesare is less subtle. Plus, the younger Borgia is more unstable and becomes obsessed with gaining unlimited power. Rodrigo sees that his son has become a problem and attempts to poison him. 4 Atoq Navarro Usurped Gabriel Roman (Uncharted: Drake's Fortune)

In the original Uncharted game, Nate, Elena, and Sully go on a search for El Dorado. However, they're not the only ones looking for the famous treasure. Some eviler people are after it, too, including Gabriel Roman, who has a history with Sully. As such, he's presented as the main villain of the game, while Atoq Navarro and Eddy Rojas serve as his underlings.

Yet, things take a turn when they actually get their hands on the treasure. Navarro encourages his boss to open the large golden sarcophagus. What he knows that Roman doesn't is that the thing is cursed. Therefore, when Roman opens it, he's turned into a monstrous creature and Navarro shoots him in the head. It turns out that Navarro had a plan to acquire El Dorado and sell it as a bioweapon. And that plan didn't include the man who funded the search for the treasure.

3 Albert Wesker Usurped Oswell E. Spencer (Resident Evil Serie♌s)

The rel🀅ationship between Albert Wesker and the CEO of Umbrella, Oswell E. Spencer, is complicated. Wesker serves as an Umbrella agent prior to the events of the series and throughout the first game. During this period, he iౠs a major antagonist in the series, but as leader of the Umbrella Corporation, Spencer is still technically the big bad.

At the end of the first game, Wesker fakes his death and betrays the company. However, this isn't technically the usurping moment as Spencer is still the overall villain. That moment doesn't come until years later, when Umbrella is finished, and Wesker finally comes face-to-face with Spencer again - as shown in a flashback during Resident Evil 5. Ocelot might be the most untrustworthy character in video game history as he almost always betrays his allies. In MGS2, he serves as the second-in-command to Solidus Snake, who runs a terrorist group known as the Sons Of Liberty. They take over the Big Shell and capture the U.S President. Their goal to free America makes them seem like the good guys. Their questionable methods make them the villains of the game, though. So, Ocelot's actions stopped Solidus from ever succeeding, and he became the series' main antagonist going forward - albeit as Liquid Ocelot.
