Mutations are a core feature of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Biomutant. Sure, you can also use a variety of different items or vehicles to get the job done, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:such as the Mekton, but it's not the💖 same as unleashing mutation-based powers. But, how exactly does Biomutant define what is considered a mutation?
We explain what you'll need to unlock them all, and just generally clear up ♍any and all questions you may have about the wonderous world of genetically modified animals in the post-apocalypse setting that is Biomutant.
What Is A Mutation, Technically?
So ther🔯e are actually a couple of different aspects of the game that are defined as "Mutations". Obviously, Biogenetics obviously count, but that's not all, is it? These are the different types of mutation.
- Biogenetics: The most clear-cut example, these are mutations that are a bit more "organic" in terms of what they let the Ronin do, such as creating mushrooms (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:one of the best mutations), forming a bubble of mucus, or even making puddles of radioactive goop. They're just a bit less magical in general.
- Psi Powers: Whiജle these supernatural abilities might use a different resource (Psi Points instead of Bio Points), they still absolutely change the genetic makeup of the Ronin's brain so that he can use these abilities.
- Elemental Resistances: These are the methods by which you'll mutate the Ronin so that he can survive in harsh conditions of all types, such as Heat, Cold, Radioactivity, Bi🏅ohazard, and areas without oxygen (Hypoxia).
- Mutation Pools: There are these little pools of pure radioactive slime in Biomutant168澳洲幸运5开奖网: that you can find and jump into so that Ro🌃nin can change his physical appearance however he desires. It only costs a single Bio Point to use, but this is quite obviously also a type of mutation, though it doesn't have any practical use in the game itself.
What Are Bio Points And How Do I Get Them?
So, how do you obtain Biogenetic Powers, Resistances, and more in Biomutant? Well, most of them require Bio Points to unlock, outside of Psi Powers of course, which use Psi Points insteadꦰ. To gꦆet Bio Points, you can do one of two things:
- Find them naturally in the world hidden inside Bio Containers
- Go into Biohazard biomes and fight the enemies there, such as the Morks, who all drop points on death.
Luckily, it's a pretty easy process to find Morks and grind out a huge amoun💧t of these Bio Points.
How Many Will I Need To Unlock Everything?
Now that you know what mutations are and what is considered a mutation in Biomutant, it's time to unlock and upgrade all of them to the max. This means upping a🌜ll of your Elemental Resistances to 100% and obtaining all the Biogenetic Powers, and Psi Powers as well. But, how much farming would you need to do to achieve that? Luckily, we did the math for you:
- Upgrading all the Resistances (outside of Hypoxia, which can't be upgraded) costs 23 Bio Points
- Unlocking all the Mutations, both Light and Dark types, costs 53 Bio Points.
- And, while a bit unrelated, you'll need 68 Psi Points to get all the Psi Powers as well.
Mutations & Psi Powers Share The Same Four Equip Slots
Here's the thing about Biomutant that is honestly a bit of a downer, both Psi Powers and Biogenetic Abilities use the same four equip slots.
This means that you can only equip a max of four abilities from the combined two categories.
And, with seven Biogenetic Powers and eight (well, technically nine) Psi Powers, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:that's about 15 potential powers you only have four slots for!
Some Mutations Can Be Used At The Same Time, Others Can’t
Funnily enough, Biogenetic Powers and Psi Powers sometimes work quite well together or when you stack two of the same t♚ype. For example, you can use Rad Wisps while in the Mucus Bubble or Skyspare with Freeze. Sounds pretty good right?
The only problem is, the game doesn't specify wh🅺ich ones are able to be used at the same time, so you sort of have to buy them all and exper🗹iment.
You Can Go Into Negative Energy By Using Certain Mutation Combinations
We just mentioned how you can use the Mucus Bubble and Rad Wisps powers together, which is amazing. But, what you might not know, is that both Psi Powers and Biogenetic Powers can use up so much of your Ki Energy that it goes into the negative.
To do this, you need to use an ability that uses a chunk of Ki Energy to cast, such as𒐪 Freeze or Storm Hop rather than one that slowly dwindles it, like Mucus Bubble. It doesn't make a huge difference, but it does allow you to get off one extra Freeze, Storm Hop, or even Sky-spark which may make or break a difficult encounter.
There’s An Exclusive Mutation That Has To Be Unlocked
Lastly, you should know ahead of time that there's one specific mutation that's locked off unless you picked the Psi Freak class. This Psi Power is called Spark Ball, and it's essentially the same as Sizzle Ball,ౠ it just uses electricity rather than fire and is a bit stronger overall thanks to electricity being the element that's least resisted by enemies.
Again, there are a lot of other powers you can get to serve the same purpose, but Spark Ball is actually one of the better late-game mutations, so it's good to know in advance considering you sadly can't have both Sizzle and Spark, since 🍷one always replaces the other.
