The series is fairly creepy all around, especially when you consider the dark cities of R🅺apture🔥 and Columbia. Part of what gives you insighﷺt into these worlds is the objects that provide information of past events. This is why Audio Diaries are so helpful, as they allow you to see the cities through the lens of a resident.

Despite being helpful, most audio diaries are eerie and tell stories of the darker aspects of the cities. Whether you’re listening to a logical witness account of something terrible, or to the deluded perspective of a Sඣplicer or c♛ult member, these audio diaries are typically chilling. These are ten of the creepiest audio diaries in the series.

10 💧 Surgery’s Picasso - J.S. Steinman

Dr. Steinman in front of his office holding a tommy gun

Found in the Medical Pavilion, “surgeon” J.S. Steinman records an audio diary describing his concerning view of surgery. There are plenty of disturbing audio diaries from Steinman, which is only made worse when you mee🧸t the man behind the tapes in pers🅷on.

Instead of viewing surgery as a medical procedure, Steinman begin⛄s to compare surgery to Picasso’s abstract paintings. He states, “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if I could do with a knife,” what the artist did with his brush. Once you make your way into Steinman’s surgery room, you’ll get a first-hand look at his morbid abstract surgeries.

9 Eat Dog - 🐻Eleanor Lam🌜b

BioShock 2: Minerva's den - A Little Sister being protected outside the Programming Room

The BioShock series takes the creepy little girl trope to another level with its Little Sisters. Eleanor Lamb, a previous Little Sister, records her own audio diary, in𝕴nocently misinterpreting something her mother, Sofia Lamb, told her about other children.

Sofia Lamb allegedly tells her daughter to steer clear of other children, explaining that they are “'being raised on a diet of dog-eat-dog,” likely referring to Rapture’s harsh society. Once Eleanor inevitably sees the other children she states “The dog eaters wear human skins… It makes them look just like us!”

8 Enrage Trial - Yi Suchong 𝄹

A poster praising the genius Yi Suchong in BioShock

Similar to Steinman, Yi Suchong is a sadistic man who lacks any form of basic empathy. He also experimented on residents of Rapture and played a big role in the creation of Big Daddies and Little Sisters. Because his scientific research is so renowned, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:he was also taske🍸d with developing plasmids.

This audiඣo diary depicts a trial for t๊he Enrage plasmid, in which his subject has started screaming. Yi Suchong calls for his nurse saying “Nurse, hold him down… nurse! Nurse!” Both Suchong and his patient, Mr.Wallace, are in a great amount of distress, which shows the unethical nature that comes along with creating plasmids.

7 Not What Sh👍e Wanted ꦕ- J.S. Steinman

Surprise, surprise: J.S. Steinman has started to experiment on his patients against their will. The audio tape illustrat✃es a gruesome scene, as Steinman has decided to perform an unwanted surgery. Th🥀e patient only wanted a rhinoplasty, but Steinman starts to criticize other aspects of her face.

The nurse explains that the patient isn’t booked for a facelift, but Steinman begins cutting anyway. Clearly fearful of Steinman’s behavior, the nurse attempts to reason with him, saying “Doctor, stop cutting,” but she ultimately calls for help when she sees his continued abuse exclaiming “Get me the chief of s☂urgery, now!” Steinman’s casual whistling, while he cuts into the patient’s face, makes this scene even more horrifying.

6 The Wild Bunny ♈- Sander Cohen

Sander Cohen in the original Bioshock

Shortly after entering Fort Frolic in the first installment, Cohen’s horrifying artistic expression becomes readily apparent. You can find an audio log of Cohen’s where he poetically discusses how he can’t take his 😼bunny ears off.

Cohen begs “I want to take the ears off! Please! ✱Take them off! Please!” It’s more likely that Cohen’s bunny ears are a metaphor for his deluded mental state, which he likens to an “eternal curse,” as if suggesting that his actions are beyond his control.

5 Protection Bond - Yi Sucho꧟ng 🎃

Yi Suchong and Little Sisters in office

Yi Suchong worked closely with the Little Sisters, so much so that they referred to him as “Pa꧅pa Suchong.” In the first game, you&rs☂quo;ll hear an Audio Diary where the Little Sisters try to speak with Suchong. You can hear Suchong slapping one of the girls followed by the bellowing of a Big Daddy.

The sound of the drill can be🧸 heard whileꦯ Suchong screams. Unlike most of the audio diaries, you can actually see this gruesome scene play out in BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea.

4 🍨 The Doubters - Sander Cohen

Sander Cohen’s cruelty extends beyond torturing people for the sa𒀰ke of art, he also takes no issue with the killing of Little Sisters. During his monologue, he disturbingly states, “Yes, there’s blood in the streets. Yes, peopl𝓡e sometimes… disappear. And those awful little girls… Well, I suppose the Doubters think you can paint a picture without soiling your smock.”

This audio diary provides further insight into Cohen’s pathology. He’s ꧙more than okay with the violence taking place in Rapture, showing how far down the rabbit hole he’s gone.

3 Pavlov's Bell - Dr. Harrison Powell

BioShock Infinite takes its most eerie turn once you've reached Comstock House. What you'll find is a deviation from the universe you've been previously exploring. You've arrived in an even more twisted reality that shows a virtually unrecognizable version of Elizabeth.

While scouring the area, looking for Elizabeth, you can find an audio diary in the doctor's office. The voxophone details experiments being tested on a subject, comparing her to Pavlov's Dog. Powell horrifyingly describes this torture, stating, "Pavlov made a dog salivate. We'll make this one weep."

2 𒈔 Fitness - Rachelle Jacques

bioshock tonics menu

Not all creepy audio diaries in the series have to depict extreme violence, some just high𒅌light the social decline of Rapture’s residents. Rachelle Jacques is an insignificant character, but her 🉐audio diary speaks volumes of the new perspectives among those living in Rapture before it fell into ruin.

Jacques’ husband is trying to achieve physical fitness through gene tonics rather than exercising. And while Jacques encourages her husband to exercise with her, she recognizes that his brain is “atrophying” and suggests she’ll “start sneaking some Brain Boost into his da🐷ily regimen.” It’s chilling to think how normalized tonics have become in the city, especially considering the dangerous consequences of splicing.

1 🌟 Hatred - Brigid Tenenbaum 𓆉

A screenshot showing a Little Sister in BioShock 2

Brigid Tenenbaum has played a significant role in the creation of Little Sisters, and though she’s responsible for creating them, she also despises them. Her description of one Little Sister paints a disturbing picture of how far she’s𝓰 altered the girls. She describes her with a disheveled appear🥀ance and a “dead glow in her eye.”

Here, Tenenbaum has an epiphany that the Little Sisters are only victims, undeserving of her hatred. It’sꦯ implied that Tenenbaum has begun to hate herself for what she’s created.
