Follow the path into the village, but instead of heading towards the boss arena of the Second Prince of the Flowing Sands boss battle, head up toward the hill until you come across a small house with a rock in front of its door.
Approaching the hut will allow you to initiate dialogue with an NPC. Exhaust all the dialogue of the NPC until it starts repeating the same thing about s📖omeone heading to The New West.
Now, you will have to wait until you defeat the Yellow Wind Sage and progress to Chapter Three. In Chapter Three, after progressing the story, you will be sent to the Pagoda Realm.
In the Pagoda Realm, you will find the Third Rat Prince in the cell next to yours, but the door will be locked by a purple seal.
To unlock all the doors with the purple seals, you’ll have to defeat Captain Lotus-Vision near the Upper Pagoda♎ Shrine in the Pagoda Realm.
After you’ve defeated Captain Lotus-Vision, the purple seals on the doors all over Pagoda Realm will be removed, and you will have to return to the Third Rat Prince’s cell.
After you’ve returned to the Third Rat Prince’s Cell, you will find the Ashen Slumber Transformation by interacting with the Two-Headed Rat Guai’s corpse.
How To Get The Ashen Slumber Transformation After Finishing The Third Rat Prince’s Quest
If you’ve defeated the four Captains in Chapter Three and finished the Third Rat Prince’s quest without interacting with the hut in Chapter Two, you won’t be able to find the Rat Guai’s corpse in his cell and will have to fight the Two-Headed Rat Guai yourself.
You can still return to Chapter Two and interact with the NPC in the Sandgate Village, but after that, you’ll have to head to the Pagoda Realm.
Start from the Upper Pagoda Shrineand keep going to your left until you come across the edge of the cliff. Fall down from it, and you’ll find a Red Yaksha.
There’s an opening to your right. Enter the hall, and you’ll find the Two-Headed Rat Guai standing in front of a stone table with a piece of flesh on it.
Approaching the Two-Headed Rat Guai will initiate the boss battle, and you’ll have to defeat it to acquire the Ashen Slumber Transformation.
How To Defeat The Two-Headed Rat Guai
The Two-Headed Rat Guai will keep swinging the sword in its hand while blowing out smoke from one of its heads.
You’ll have to be wary of the smoke as the boss can ignite the smoke on fire, causing a large explosion that deals a lot of damage and stacks the Scorch Bane on the Destined One.
The best way to defeat this boss is to keep your distance from the smoke and let it ignite it first before approaching him. Use the Spell to freeze him and deal a considerable ꦇamount of damage.
The boss’s melee attacks are fairly easy to recognize and avoid by dodging, and hi𓆉s moveset is also quite limite♌d.
