Black Myth: Wukong - B💜lack Loong Boss Guide
Black Loong is one of Black Myth: Wukong's most shockingly difficult bosses𒉰. We'll show you how to e༺xtinguish their spark.
Capღtain Lotus-🍸Vision is an optional boss that the player may encounter in Chapter 3. This boss is a lot different from the Destined One has encountered so far, as it focuses exclusively on lasers and magical attacks. You’ll have to deal with many projectiles in this boss fight. Fortunately, there are multiple ways to defeat this boss effectively.
How To Find Captain Lotus-Vision
In Chapter 3’s Pagoda Realm area, you have to make your way to the Upper Pagoda Shrine. F💫rom there, you have to jump down from the ledge. You’d be able to see manꦗy petrified monks down below.
The Captain Lotus-Vision is right in front of the many petrified monks. If these petrified monks are killed during the boss battle, they won’t res♍pawn when you resurrect at a shrine, but reloading the game will respawn the monks.
Captain Lotus-Vision Attacks
Captain Lotus-Vision only attacks through lasers and magical projectiles, and avoiding them all is incredibly challenging. If there are petrifi🧸ed monks in the arena, the boss may make them come alive, and you’ll have to fight them first. Luckily, these monks don’t have that much HP.

Description |
How To Avoid |
---|---|---|
1-Hit Projectile Attack + Laser |
The boss will often throw several tiny magical orbs in the Destined One’s direction. Captain Lotu🐬s-Vision might pair this attack with a laser follow-up. You can see it coming if the boss’ staff starts to glow with a circle around it. |
You can very easily avoid this attack by dodging in any direction. To avoid the laser, dodge as the s🌺taff glows brighter for an instant. |
Hovering Circle Of Projectile Attacks |
The boss will summon many small orbs that will be hovering around its head in a circular arrangement. These projectiles w𓆏ill follow the player. |
You can avoid these projectiles by sprinting to your sides or by dodging repeatedly. Note that if you get hit by one small magical orb, you’ll get hit by the rest of them as well and won’t be able to avoid it. You can also choose to use the staff spin move to deflect these projectiles. |
Unpetrification Of Monks |
Captain Lotus-Vision will unpetrify one of the monks, which will then attack you. |
If you’ve hit these petrified monks with your attacks, or by dodging, they will be destroyed and won’t be able to come t🀅o life. |
3-Hit Projectile Attack |
The boss will attack you thrice, with a bunch of tiny magical orbs. |
You can avoid this attack by dodging just as the orbs are about to hit you or by using the spinning stafဣf to deflect these projectiles. |
Ground Explosions |
At times, when you successfully avoid the magical orb projectiles. They’ll go into the ground and small magical explosions will start to take place. |
Simply get away from the explosions to avoid them, they have a very small radius. |
Giant Magic Circle Sequence |
After you’ve dealt some damage to Captain Lotus-Vision, it will teleport and a giant magic circle on its back will appear. During this sequence, a tracking laser will be shot out from the boss’ staff. Meanwhile, smaller magical circles will appear from the giant circle, with each smaller circle shooting an instant laser. These small circles will appear from the giant circle four times, one by one, before appearing at once and shooting a combined laser at the Destined One. After the sequence is complete, four magical devices will appear in each corner of the room with each one shooting a continuous laser that rotates 90 degrees twice, combining at the center of the room two times. This attack destroys all the petrified monks 🥀in the arena, and the magical devices in each corner will remain there for the rest of the boss fight. |
Avoiding everything in this sequence is difficult. For the tracking laser from the staff, you can simply sprint to the sides to avoid it. The instant lasers from the smaller magical circles are easy to avoid as you have to dodge exactly when the circle blinks brighter for a moment. For the 90-degree laser from each device in the corner, you can jump over it at the precise time to avoid it. |
Laser Attack |
Captain Lotus-Vision may throw out a single laser attack where its staff starts to glow with a circle arounꦉd it. |
Dodge in any direction exact༒ly when the staff glows brighter for a moment. |
Trap Room Sequence |
During the later half of the boss fight when you’ve taken out about 75 percent of Captain Lotus-Vision’s HP, it will teleport to the center of the room and will begin to levitate higher. During this sequence, several lasers will pop up from everywhere in the room. These lasers don’t move and will damage you if you touch them. Alongside, the stationary lasers, there will also be several smaller magical projectiles that are diffꦐicult to see but will follow you and deal damage to you. The boss will continue this attack for a short while, before coming down to the g𒁃round again. |
The lasers themselves aren’t that much of a threat, since they won’t damage you unless you touch them. To avoid the faint smaller magical projectiles, you will have to observe carefully and 🦄dodge. |
How To Defeat Captain Lotus-Vision
During your time at the Pagoda Realm, you might’ve become familiar with the timed Red-Eye curse. This curse halves your health bꦫut also drastically increases your attack damage. This gives you a choice if you want to fight this boss with more attack damage or more HP.
The best strategy to deal with this boss is to simply dodge and attack. Use and to deal damage. During the troublesome attack sequences, you can use the Azure Dust or the Red Tides transformations to mitigate as much damage as possible without having to heal from your Go🅠urd.
Staff Spin can deflect most of the smaller projectile attacks, making it a worthy ꦫskill to invest some sparks into, right before this boss battle.
The boss will keep teleporting from one side to the other. However, you can use the Immobilize spell to lock Captain Lotus-Vision down. You can also charge a heavy smash attack, andౠ throw it right as it teleports, allowing you to deal your share of damage before the boss decides to teleport again.
Rewards For Defeating Captain Lotus-Vision
After you’ve defeated this boss, it will leave behind its spirit, similar to a few other bosses. However, the spirit of Captain Lotus-Vision will be yellow, unlike the usual blue spirits. When you absorb it, you will receive the Spirit of Captain Lotus-Vision as a Key Item and will not be abl💎e to use it as a Spirit Summꦰon.
Alongside the Key Item, you will also receive the Frostsprout Twig Curio, which moderately increases your chill resistance, two Cold Iron Leaves, a Mind Core, and 1185 Will. Furthermore, defeating Captain Lotus-Vision removes the purple seal on doors inside the Pagoda Realm, allowing 🗹you to access all of them, making this troublesome boss battle truly worth it.
