Wanderin🐈g Wight is one of the first bosses you meet in Black Myth: Wukong, and it packs a punch. Here's how to beat it.

Being able to summon your own serpents in battle will be a grea🐽t asset for the coming difficult battles ahead. So, with this guide in hand, we'll help mak﷽e sure you understand the rules of his fight so you can employ his dirty tactics against your own foes.

Guangmou Attacks And Combos

Guangmou summons a vortex of wind during his fight with Wukong in Black Myth: Wukong.

Guangmou's attacks are not too dangerous, being generally forg🤪iving for mistakes and clearly telegraphed.

Your primary concern will be two attacks:

  • Snake Dance
  • Poison Mist Breath

Both of these attacks can deal exceptional damage while building up your Poison meter 🌺quickly. Being hit with the latter𓆉 will almost be a guarantee of becoming poisoned.

While poisoned, you will take residual damage for several seconds. At this point in the game, curing it isn't an option (nor recommended for resource reasons), so your only way to face it is prevention.

Guangmou does the snake dance and says "Boys, greet our visitor," as Wukong transforms in Black Myth: Wukong.

The best way of preventing poison is to learn Guangmou's attacks, so refer to the chart above.

Otherwise, his spiritual attacks are only dangerous for their ability to stagger you into atღtacks from his snacks or to build wiꦑth his other hits.

Keep in mind that his projectiles can be deflected with your spin attack, opening you up for some ౠnice combos if you have the stamina to maཧintain it.

How To Defeat Guangmou

Guangmou will begin every fight sequence with his Spiritual Onslaught. You can deflect this with your spin attack or simply dodge through them.

Either way, he'll typically teleport behind you for a follow-up attack, so don't let him get the be🍸tter of you.

Before entering this fight, ensure your Soak is equipped on your Gourd. Withꦐ this,༒ your Poison resistance will be higher.

Guangmou's teleportations can make getting good combos on him a bit tricky, but this also means you have ample time to charge your Smash-stance attacks.

Your best openings to get these attacks will be:

  • Vortex of Wind
  • Wind Spirit

We recommend if you haven't already, taking the upgrade that allows you to charge your strong attacks while dashing. This will improve your fight experience.

Wukong prepares to defeat Guangmou as he immobilizes him during fight in Black Myth: Wukong.

The primary problem you'll have with Guangmou is closing th🅷e dista🌜nce as he has good ranged options and a very dangerous Poison Mist Breath to watch out for in melee.

If you're struggling with getting good damage on him, observe these tips:

  1. Jump attacks will be good distance closers.
  2. Your transformation can put a burn effect on him, and the strong attack charge can allow you to quickly dash and close the distance for notable damage.
  3. If you're poisoned, use your transformation. Your poison meters between Wukong and his transformation do not carry over either way.
  4. Take a point in upgrading your Spin Attack, allowing your deflect of his Spiritual Onslaught to become a great opportunity for damage.
  5. Don't try to turn his Snake Dance into an opening. You'll more often get punished if you're new to the game.
  6. Use your on his Wind Spirit attack, shutting down this move and getting the bonus for increased damage while attacking as its cue animation is very long.

Don't worry about taking any cures if you get Poisoned. It isn't worth the waste of resources so early in the game and a lack of opportunity to safely take them. We do warn, however, that Poison will continue to deal damage during cutscenes.

We included that in our first-attempt video above for both a laugh and an example. If you die from Poison during the ending cutscene, do not worry; you can still receive your rewards from when you return to the arena.

Eventually, Guangmou will be put to rest, and you'll have the ability to steal his spirit. With his spirit, you can summon his snakes into battle and drastically increase your Poison resistance.

As you collect his spirit, you'll also gain these rewards:

  • Blood of the Iron Bull
  • x2 Yarn
  • x527 Will

With all of these in hand, you can now say you've reached the halfway point of this adven👍ture's starting area. The difficulty only spirals 🌳up from here.

As you venture forth, we recommend (if you haven't already) to stop at the Shrine and pick up the spirit in your "Retrieve Spirits" tab.
