Letitia Wright has returned to the set of Black Panther 2: Wak🐽anda Forever, following a months-long recovery from an injury sustained during filming. This also comes after reports that the misinformation she shared concerning the Covid-19 vaccine was jeopardizing her future with Disney, with her alleged unvaccinated status making international travel difficult for the actress.
The of her return is courtesy of Wright's spokesperson, and marks her return to work after almost five months in recovery. Production slowed after Wright she was injured in August 2021, in what was reported to be an accident involving a stunt rig.
The resulting injuries appeared to ☂be minor at first but, according to a Marvel spokesperson, turned out to be much more. "What we had initially thought were minor injuries turned out to be much more serious with Letitia suffering a criticaꦑl shoulder fracture, and a concussion with severe side effects", Marvel stated. "It has been a painful process and Letitia has been home recovering with her doctors and the support of family".
As Wright lives in London, and filming for Black Panther is taking place in the US, many specꦉulated that her previous stances on the Covid-19 vaccine would holdౠ up production even further. While in recovery, the US updated its requirements for non-citizens to enter the country, meaning that all visitors would have to have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine (or one dose of Johnson & Johnson). Wright's vaccination status is not known, but she was previously called out on social media for sharing a video from a YouTube channel that spread vaccine misinformation, as well as transphobic and sinophobic sentiments.
On top of this, Wright was allegedly discussing her anti-vaccination sentiments on-set. A more recent report went further, stating that Wright was c𓆏onsidering leaving the MCU a💜ltogether, as most productions have vaccine mandates in place. In ܫany case, Wright will at least be seeing the Black Panther sequel through to the end, wi𝓡th filming set to resume next week.
