As is the case every Summer, the past few weeks have been absolutely stacked with gaming news thanks to Summer Game Fest and dedicated showcases from PlayStati♎on, Xboꦑx, and Nintendo. Considering how many reveals and announcements we've had recently, you might think that things would finally start slowing down, but Bandai Namco has just proven that's not the case.

Even though Ba🍷ndai Namco had a ton to share at Summer Game Fest, it's taken things one step further with a dedicated Summer Showcase at Anime Expo 2024. Beyond showing off even more of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Sword Art Online, and Gundam Breaker 4, the big surprise of the event was the reveal of Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, the first console game for the series since Bleach: Soul Resurrección for the PS3 back in 2011.
Bandai Namco Reveals EGG At Anime Expo 2024
Bleach: Rebirth of Souls has been rumored for quite a while, having first popped up in December last year due to a trademark filing. It was also hinted at by an industry insider ear🐼lier this year, strongly suggesting that we'd see it at the year's Anime Expo. Now that it's been confirmed, we know that Bleach: Rebirth of Souls is launching on PS5, PS4, Xbox, and PC, though we don't have a release date just yet.
After the announcement, it was confirmed that Bleach: Rebirth of Souls will be a fighting/action game, and will be working closely with the creators of the anime. Screenshots were shown off, giving us a look at the game's graphics, and it was also revealed that coming back from the brink of death will be a key mechanic, directly inspired by the show itself.
Of course, while it's a surprise to see Bleach: Rebirth of Souls revealed, Bandai Namco did confirm that its Summer Showcase would feature new looks at some exciting upcoming games. On top of the Bleach: Rebirth of Souls announcement, we also got more details on Sword Art Online, a very hype fight between Goku Black and Ultra Instinct Goku from Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, and a new look at Gundam Breaker 4.
