Much like the 2024 cancellation, there's been no reason given for BlizzCon not taking place this year. However, we do already have the dates for the next BlizzCon: the weekend of September 12 and September 13, 2026.

In the statement, Blizzard gives us a hint as to꧋ why BlizzCon is on such a long hiatus, saying that it wants to put on an event that i▨s "worthy" of the community. It then explains some of what is going into planning for BlizzCon 2026.

"For 2026, alongside BlizzCon staples like Opening Ceremony, in-depth panels, the Darkmoon Faire, friendly competition, hands-on gameplay, and more, we aim to meaningfully elevate this iconic celebration and create an unforgettable experience f🦂or all who take part ꦏin it," the statement reads.

"We are building this event just like we build our games: with a deep commitment to our players, with respect for your connections to our universes, and as a celebration of the strength of the bonds formed through shareꦅd adventure. The road to BlizzCon starts here."

This will be the second BlizzCon held since the successful merger with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Microsoft, which was 168澳洲幸运🦹5开奖网:completed a month before BlizzCon 2023. Therefore, we can expect Microsoft to have more of a say in how the event is handled now, although it remains to be seen what ꦫthis influence will look like.

BlizzCon has had a rough few years. Like most in-person events, it was cancelled in 2020 due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, with BlizzCon 2021 being held virtually.
