Bloodborne fans might think they’ve seeꦗn everything there is to see, but the recent datamining has given us a disturbing glimpse into the horrors that didn’t make the cut. Are you ready for the Nightmare Moon Presence?

From Software’s much-vaunted action RPG was the first big PlayStation 4 exclusive, arriving soon after the console itself. Touted as a spiritual successor to the notoriously difficult Dark Souls franch✨ise, it’s an unforgiving, bleak, and melodramatic experience.

Almost two years on from its original release🧸 in March 2015, players tr༒ied all manner of character builds, every weapon, traversed every square inch of the chalice dungeons. If you’re determined though, you can check out some unfinished content that was never supposed to be accessible.

Bloodborne was data-mined last month. This opened the floodgates for all kinds of discoveries within the game’s chalice dungeons. Particular configurations of these dungeons, as fans will know, can be shared by means of the glyph system (codes that other players can input, much like the seeded runs of The Binding of Isaac).

Some of ൩the highlights of these buggy iܫncomplete areas of the game include brand new, previously cut bosses. There are also vastly different forms of some of the bosses we do know. One of these abominations has been dubbed The Nightmare Moon Presence by the community, on account of its resemblance to that one encounter in the game as we know it.

The unfinished creature is broken (it spawns on a ramp near a dungeon door🤪, and sometimes its movements simply fail and it gets stuck there), but it can be encountered, fꦆought and vanquished. Even before getting to its boss room, the forbidden glyph will dump you in a featureless, grey, glitchy landscape, further reinforcing the fact that we were never supposed to know about this area. We were never supposed to try and get here, and we certainly weren’t supposed to succeed.

Elsewhere in the glyphs, you can access a fight against a familiar boss, Mergo’s Wet Nurse (this time around, things are totally flipped and there are three of them triple-teaming you), as well as a h🅷uge feline-like beast that was also scrapped.

It’s intriguing stuff all around. Bloodborne veterans, who were thrilled to see a new encounter or area of the gam🌸e (shady and glitchy or otherwis💎e), will want to hit the links to find out more.
