The boss may be called The Witch of Hemwick, but there are actually two, sneaky. They’re both invisible, but rea♑lly, they’re nothing more than frail old witches, so they’re relatively e🍸asy to beat. If you know what you’re doing.

Facing The Witch
As you enter the chapel you’ll see a tall, dark figure, a Mad One. This is not the boss. The witches will be invisible until you get close enough to them. When you’re i꧙n their boss arena (their house, maybe?) check one of these six locations, as they tend to favour them:
- One of the room’s corners
- Either side of the ramp in the middle of the room
Go to the🌠se areas and look for a dim, floating red light, that’s a witch. Go over to it and the witch should appear. Then you want to hit her until she teleports away. Then just rinse and repeat. A trick here is to walk, not sprint. That way, all your stamina can go towards hitting them. That sounds super easy, but, being witches, they have some tricks up their slee꧟ves.
The first and most annoying trick is that each witch can revive the other. The second witch’s health bar w✤on’t be visible until you kill the first witch, so you won’t know how much of the fight you have left. Just kill the second witch as quickly as p𝔍ossible to stop any resurrection shenanigans.
Finish It Off
The Mad Ones will keep getting summoned by the witches and can overwhelm you if you allow too many to spawn. A good strategy would be to damage the witches, kill a Mad One, repeat. If you’re finding them too tough to deal with, go and spend all of your insight. Having zero insight means♉ the Mad Ones won’t appear, leaving only the witches to deal with.
The witches can attack you themselves. They have an annoying ranged grab which will stun you long enough for them to come and gouge your eyes, nasty. Dodge to the side of the ranged grab if you value y﷽our eyesight.
When you find one, you can backstab them with a charged R2 attack. Do this twice and then visceral attack them for massive damage before they can teleport away. This fight is a lot easier the more damage you can do (duh), so make sure you’ve upgraded your main weapon as much as possible, and your stamina too. This way, you’ll be able to get off many high damage attacks, killing the witches quickly before they can revive each other. If you’re struꦍggling to find upgrade materials, the large werewolves in Hemwick regularly drop twin blood stone shards, so kill a few of them and you should be good to go.
