Beforehand though, be sure to speak with Maurice on Sanctuary to search the galaxy for ghosts—which take the form of glowing, whispy enemies. This task will need to be initiated in order to reach this area of The Heck Hole. You'll have to give 25 Hecktoplasm to Maurice, at which point she'll open up the portal to the Heck Hole.
About midway through the map in Heck Hole, you'll see a vast temple region with two sets of staircases that lead to a room with some large vines in the back. This area can be found at this location on the map:
This room houses four colored skulls on the right side. Perched upon the stair pillars leading to this room are four jack-o-lanterns with different colored glowing lights. These will be the points of interest for this quest. Take out a few pesky Rat🔴chs populating the area to clear the way first.
How To Complete The Puzzle
To properly clear this puzzle, pay attention to each color of the pumpkins displayed on the pillars from left to right. You may notice that these colors represent weapon and item rarities in the game—green, blue, purple, and gold.
The left-to-right order of this display indicates the order in which you need to pull the chains of the corresponding colored skulls. You might assume you'll need to pull them in order of color rarity, but again, these must be pulled in the order that the jack-o-lanterns are displayed from left to right (while facing the staircase going upwards).
For instance, if the jack-o-lanterns are displayed in the order of purple, green, gold, gold—then the purple, green, gold skull chains must be pulled in that sequence; with🅘 the gold being pulled twice.
Keep in mind that this sequence will be different each time, and colors will often be repeated. If a color is repeated, this means you'll need to pull that same colored skull chain the same amount of times as that color jack-o-lantern appears.

Once the skull chains are pulled in the right order, a secret entrance across the way will be opened to you.
