The Borderlands series has some fantastic shooting mechanics and cel-shaded graphics. With more news about 🍨the upcoming moviꦐe releasing, many fans have been revisiting the games. Of course, this means revisiting all of their question about the lore, too.

The Sirens stick out as one of the most interesting parts about the Borderlands universe. After all, what isn't cool about dimensional-shifting, tattooed warriors? Here are some facts you might not know about Borderlands' Sirens.

10 There Are 12 Known Sirens In History ♈

Borderlands Sirens including Angel, Maya, Amara, Tyreen, and Steele

Players might be familiar with Sirens who appeared as playabꦯle or story characters in the Borderlands games. But there are 🧸more in the lore than appear in the games. The 13 known Sirens include:

  • Lilith - the Firehawk with the Phasewalk power
  • Maya - Vault Hunter with the Phaselock power
  • Angel - Handsome Jack's tragic daughter with the Phaseshift power
  • Amara - Vault Hunter with the Phasetrance power
  • Tannis - 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a former Dahl scientist who inherits Angel's powers when she dies
  • Commandant Steele - an Atlas Corporation lackey with unknown powers
  • Tyreen - God-Queen of the Children of the Vault cult with the Phaseleech power
  • Ava - a young girl who inherits Maya's powers when she dies
  • Asha/Tate - a Siren who appeared in comics briefly, but is not considered a canon Siren
  • Dido/Leda - there is some confusion on whether this is the wife of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Typhon Deleon and mother to Troy and Tyreen or the Queen of Athenas. Regardless, it is unknown what her powers might have been
  • Nyriad - a mysterious Siren from days long past who thought her Phaseleech ability dangerous enough to lock herself away
  • Mysterious Siren - a mentor for Lilith about whom not much is known.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Troy Calypso, Tyreen's twin, is often not♛ considered a "true" Siren since his residual gifts came from Tyreen.

9 Lilith's Mentor Remains Unknown

In the same way that Maya intended to me🦩ntor Ava, Lilith had her own guide through Siren-dom. In the comic series Borderlands: Orig༺ins, fans find out more about Lilith, Maya, and Steele who are all Sirens.

The character has practically no details revealed about them except that they know a thing or two about Sirens and, by proxy, Lilith. It inexplicably sets her 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:on the path to being a Vault Hunter.

8 💎 A Siren Sealed The Destroyer In A Vault

Not m꧅uch is known about Nyriad -- one of the only prominent Sirens from history in the lore. What players do know appears in Echo logs across Borderlands 3 and with quests on Nekrotafeyo.

But those logs detail some incredible feats Nyriad achieves including sealing the Vault of 🃏the Destroyer. Sadly, fans have little more to extrapolate from the information.

In fact, Nyriad goes so far as to say that she is the Siren who murdered Eridians. Of course, the Eridians also seem responsible for the Vaults and the monsters who guard them. Remember that a Vault is what drove Handsome Jack mad and to pursue unlocking the Vault of the Destr🍸oyer.

Whether Sirens are guardians ওagainst the Eridians or just 𒅌against unchecked power, they remain connected.

6 ♉ There Can Only Be 6 Or 7 At A Time ꦏ

Borderlands Sirens including Ava, Tannis, and Steele

The series' lore is inconsistent on whether six or seven Sirens can exist at any one time. The addition of Amara in Borderlands 3 previously contradicted what Handsome Jack says in Borderlands 2 about six only being "allowed to exist" at once.

However, this stipulation also supports the idea that 💃Troy is not a "true Siren" and just leeches off of Tyreen due to them having once been conjoined twins.

5 ✤ Sirens Can (And Do) Get Addicted To Eridium

Borderlands Sirens and Eridium

As Lilith shows time and again throughout the series, Sirens use Eridium to power up. Think of it as steroids for pseudo-magical powers, but the downside is that they can become addicted. Sadly, this is what 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Handsome Jack purposefully does to his Siren daughter, Angel.

Though Eridium can significantly enhance Siren powers, too much will require a constant stream for the Siren to survive. Curiously, Amara, Maya, and ev🌺en Tyreen never seem to display the same hunger for the stuff that Lilith often does.

4 Lilith Sealed Herself And Elpis Inside Eleseer 💦

Speaking of juicing Eridium to gain power, Lilith has done some impressive stuff using it. She made Sanctuary fly, defeated Vault monsters, and, in Borderlands 3, phasewalked an entire moon to save Pandora. Though it remains in question whether or not she absorbed Tyreen's powers when she died, phasewalking a moon takes a massive amount of power.

Where else could she have gotten that power than from Tyreen? Moreover, she did som꧒ething similar to what Nyriad did before her: sealing herself (and a gia🅠nt monster) into a Vault to protect others.

3 Sirens Can Choose Who Gets Theღir Power

Maya and Ava Sirens Borderlands

A has been confirmed in Borderlands 3 and by various writers, Sirens can choose who inherits their gifts. Or, conversely, they can just "send their powers📖 out into the universe" -- whatever that means. However, Sirens also retain ♌connections to their powers and who inherits them.

Perhaps this explains why Lilith's short-lived mentor recognizes Lilith, explains Siren-dom to her briefly, and then legit just expires right there.

2 Amara & Tyreen Are The Only Siren🌜s Without "Wings"

Borderlands Siren Wings

Each Siren has a pair of wing-like appendages that appear when they use their powers. Lilith's are very pronounced and appear fiery while Angel's appear...angelic. Even Maya has a pair when she uses phaselock. But Amara's "wings" manifest instead as her set of enormous arms with which she mercilessly beats up bad guys.

Commandante Steel could have them, but we never see her powers anyway. As for Tyreen, she 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:turns into a huge creature but never seems to manifest wings of any kind.

1 Amara & Tyr꧙een Are Also The Only Sirens Known To Have Siblings

Tyreen Amara Sirens Borderlands

This is a potentially routeless fact, but it still begs the question: why do most Sirens not have siblings?🐻 If all Sirens could potentially have a "parasite" like Troy, maybe the possibility Siren siblings are just ridiculously low.

Unfortunately, not enough is known about the characters, their powers, or even Sirens as a species(?) to draw educated conclusi🌺ons. Fans will just have to wait for more lore.
