The Boston Uprising have decided to bench off-tank Walid "Mouffin" Ba💦ssal as they conduct an investigation of sexual misconduct allegations directed at the player. Brussen got the start over the past weekend for the Uprising and shoul🃏d remain the off-tank going forward.
The sexual misconduct was brought to light by Khaleesi BB, a twitch streamer who was possibly romantically involved with Mouffin though they weren't labeled as a couple. In a TwitLonger post, Khaleesi described the details of their "relationship" and the aggressive nature of Mouffin during certain moments. ♑While those details were not of the biggest consequence, things took a drastic turn with serious allegations of Mouffin targeting underage girls.
According to the post, Mouffin has a penchant for underage girls, repeatedly engaging them in sexually explicit ways. Most of this sexual misconduct comes in the form of private messages 🎃where it was asks for nude photos as well as sends nude photos of himself to girls with some being as young as 15-yea⛦rs-old.
Khaleesi highlights the Overwatch League has been conducting their own investigation into the allegations even before she took them to🐓 public, but what is most disheartening is if the Boston Uprising already knew about these allegations and decided not to act on them (release/bench Mouffin) until they became public knowledge. That's not necessarily the case, though, as the Uprising announced they will be conducting an investigation themselves.
This isn't the first time a situation like this had happened within the Boston Uprisi꧟ng organization. Jonathan "DreamKazper" Sanchez was released from the team back in 2018 for a similar situation. It's either just bad luck for the organization or the fundamental way they look at building a team is flawed. Whatever ends up happening with the Mouffin situation, there is an apparent need for the Uprising organization to change something, and do it quickly.
