Right on schedule, Blizzard is releasing a balance to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Hearthstone at roughly the halfway point of its most recent expansion, Ashes of Outland. While a balance update is now the norm midway thrꦜough content releases, the upcoming patch 17.2.1 set to release on May 18 feels more like trying to play catch up, as this is the third set of changes since the p♎roblematic, chaotic release of the Demon Hunter class.
Whi﷽le the Demon Hunter class is seeing a few more much needed nerfs, other classes are see🐟ing small buffs in an effort to bump their overall win rates, which is always a welcome change.
Incoming Buffs
- Aldor Attendant: Old: Cost 2, 2 Attack, 3 Health → New: Cost 1, 1 Attack, 3 Health.
- Torrent: Old: Cost 5 → New: Cost 4.
- Shattered Rumbler: Old: 4 Attack, 6 Health → New: 5 Attack, 6 Health.
- The Lurker Below: Old: 6 Attack, 3 Health → New: 6 Attack, 5 Health.
The buff to Aldor Attendant is probably the most significant change to the Paladin class, which has been underperformi🎀ng in the expansion, though not as poorly as the Shaman class. A one mana 1/3 m♈inion is great on its own but combined with the synergy of reducing the cost of the Libram mechanic should give the class a massive early-game push towards its later game strategy.
As for Shaman, the buffs here represent a clear push towards upping the overall class win rate towards an archetype not currently viable. Time will tell if this is ⭕enough to push players towards a new style of Shaman play, but for now players can expect to continue seeing mostly Totem and Galakrond Shaman on the Standar🐼d ladder.

- Priestess of Fury: Old: 6 Attack, 7 Health → New: 6 Attack, 5 Health.
- Crimson Sigil Runner: Old: 2 Attack, 1 Health → New: 1 Attack, 1 Health.
- Scavenger's Ingenuity: Old: Draw a Beast. Give it +3/+3. → New: Draw a Beast. Give it +2/+2.
- Shadowjeweler Hanar: Old: 1 Attack, 5 Health → New: 1 Attack, 4 Health.
- Blackjack Stunner: Old: Battlecry: If you control a Secret, return a minion to its owner’s hand. It costs (2) more. → New: Battlecry: If you control a Secret, return a minion to its owner’s hand. It costs (1) more.
- Imprisoned Scrap Imp: Old: Dormant for 2 turns. When this awakens, give all minions in your hand +2/+2. → New: Dormant for 2 turns. When this awakens, give all minions in your hand +2/+1.
- Bloodboil Brute: Old: 6 Attack, 8 Health → New: 5 Attack, 8 Health.
- Bloodsworn Mercenary: Old: 3 Attack, 3 Health → New: 2 Attack, 2 Health.
Once more into the Demon Hunter breach, my dear friends. The third round of nerfs to the Demon Hunter may finally see the new class toppled from its high perch. Not only that, but Highlander Hun𝄹t♎er is likely to see a spike in power as a result, which is likely why it is seeing a nerf in Scavenger’s Ingenuity and Shadowjeweler Hanar.
On the other hand, Face Hunter may finally see a decrease in utility for the same reason, as a single point of damage can make all the difference in a pure aggro deck.This also affects Rogue with its all-around useful secret package, and we may now see players rܫemove it entirely from their decks in favor of other options.
Ultimately, the balance update clearly aims to bring down the Demon Hunter class, but Hunter, Rogue, and Warrior will remain on top🌌 of the current Standard meta. Meanwhile, the buffs towards Paladin and Shaman cards aim to bring the classes into some form of relevance, because 🔯now they are fun to tinker with, but drastically outperformed in every stage of a match.
Wild Mode
The balance update is clearly aimed at Standar🉐d mode, but we will certainly see a change in Wild as well, but likely on🎐ly for Demon Hunters. According to , Priestess of Fury is the card among the highest, or sometimes the highest win rate played percentage of any other card in a deck. In the Tempo Demon Hunter, boasting a massive 63.6% winrate over a 4,700 game sample, Priestess of Fury has a 72.2% win rate for being played, a counterintuitive 66.4% mulligan win rate.
Reducing its health by two should prevent the card from activating its end of turn ability more than o𝔍nce, as five health is far easier to 🌸deal with.
Crimson Sigil Runner’s nerf should also help, however it is not a card used in every top Demon Hunter deck in Wild﷽, unlike Pr💃iestess of Fury.
For now we can only wait and see if this third round of balance updates makes enough of a difference to not only bring down the♑ Demon Hu🌄nter class, but also bump up those like Shaman and Paladin, two classes that have seen their win rates tank since the release of the expansion.
Patch✃ 17.2.1 will release on May 18, and all nerfed cards will be eligible for a full dust refund.
