Bugsnax received a pretty significant free update post-release that added quite a lot of new things to the game. The most significant and noticeable additioꦯn is surely the area that gives the update its name - Broken Tooth, or Bigsnax Is🍷land.
There are some tough challenges to be had here, including a new tool to get to grips with, a Legendary Bugsnax to defeat, lots of fun puzzles and quests, and a whole meal's worth of new Bugsnax to catch.
Updated July 13, 2023 by Ryan Bamsey: With the launch of Bugsnax on mobile devices, we've gone ahead and updated this guide to make sure everything is completely up-to-date, readable, and helpful!
How To Get To Broken Tooth
Broken Tooth is a late-game area that is only unlocked once you have completed the side quests of five separate characters: Chandlo, Snorpy, Shelda, Floofty, and Triffany.
This will basically require you to be right at the end of the game with at least two of the Legendary Bugsnax already caught - so you'll be quite prepared for the dangers of the island.
Once these prerequisites are met, you'll start the Broken Tooth questline by talking to Snorpy and Chandlo at Snaxburg. Follow them to Simmering Springs, go on to recruit the other three Grumpuses, and then you can finalꦕly make the journey across the sea🀅.
How To Use Shrink Spice
All of the Bugsnax on Broken Tooth Island are huge. As a r꧑esult, you have to use a u𒁏nique, new tool to bring them down to more normal sizes before you can use your more conventional capture methods on them.
Dotted around the island are pots of Shrink Spice. When these make contact with a large Bugsnax, it will shrink down to a more manageable size. After a while, the spice will wea🅠r off.
You'll be taught very early on exactly how to use the Shrink Spice. Follow the questline closely until you reach this point and the rest of the island will open up to you.
As soon as you pick up some Shrink Spice, a 30-second timer will start. You only have these 30 seconds to use the Shrink Spice, or it'll disappear and you'll have to go grab some more.
To make the best use of your Shrink Spice, use the Snakgrappler to grab it from a long range and throw it at your target i༒nstead of placing it in their path.
You can also use the Lunchpad to cover long distance🌞s quickly with a bit of setup.
As you explore more of the island, more caches of Shrink Spice will become available.

Appearance |
Name |
Location |
How To Catch |
---|---|---|---|
|
Bunger Royale |
You'll find a Bunger Royale right at the entrance to Broken Tooth as a whole, and there are others in the vicinity. |
Catching a Bunger Royale is a simple matter of shrinking it with Shrink Spice and then tripping it up with your Trip Shot. Grab it with your Bug Net right after. |
|
Cheddorb |
You'll find Cheddorbs rolling around the place. They, like many of the other Bugsnax in this location, are very difficult to miss. |
Shrink the Cheddorb down with Shrink Spice, and it'll immediately flee to the nearest hiding place, be it a tunnel in the wall or a hollow log. Plac📖e your Snak Trap at one end and use your Buggy Ball to flush it out fro🦋m the other. |
|
Millimochi |
There are two trios of Milli🧸mochi wandering about, one on the upper levels and one on the right-hand side of the area, under the canopied section. |
Like most other frosty Bugsnax, the key to capturing a Millimochi is by heating it up with a spicy Bugsnax. Cover it with hot sauce and wait for a Deviled Eggler to notice it. It's best to use Shrink Spice while it's dazed, so there's no danger of it wearing off while you wait for the fiery Bugsnax to do its thing. |
|
Spaghider |
There are a few Spaghiders hiding underneath the canopies of the jungle. Keep your eyes on the sky, and you'll find them soon enough. |
Capturing Spaghiders is a pain.𝕴 The best one to target is the one under the shaded canopy near the Millimochi and a Deviled Eggler. Get some Shrink Spice, place it underneath the Spaghider, and cover it with cheese - it should slurp the spice up and become small. Assuming you've lit all of the braziers in the vicinity, you can then use the Trip Shot to set the Spaghider on fire, causing it to fall ꧋to the ground, ready to be picked up once✨ the fire goes out. |
|
Clawbsteroni |
There are a few of these patrolling certain areas. Some of them have trampolines on their backs, allowing you to platform to🌠 new areas. |
Catching Clabsteronis is easy, just shrink them down and then place your Snak Trap in their path. You can see the path they take🌄 by scanning them. |
|
Tikkada Masala |
This g🌸igantic, fiery specimen makes very slow loops around the entire area. |
The Tikkada Masala's path comes dangerously near a trio of Millimochi on the area's upper level. Firstly, make sure you've unlocked the stash of Shrink Spice to the left of the Millimochi's area, you don't want to be running too far with this time-sensitive catch. When the Tikkada Masala is near, cover the Millimochi in hot sauce - it'll put itself out and become dazed. Shrink it down and you'll be able to scoop it up with the Bug Net. |
|
Pielobite |
There's a single Pielobite in the ruins to the right of the area. |
The Pielobite's lid has four tags protecting it. Grab them all with the Snakgrappler and the lid will come off, letting you use💫 Shrink Spice on it. Be aware that once you've grappled one of its tags, it'll become very afraid and run away from you at high speeds. |
|
Chocolant |
These are used as part of the area's mazes, but you can only catch the ones that you'll find on the Cellystix's back. They are on the upper level of the area at the back. |
Shrink a Chocolant down with Shrink Spice and it'll hide inside a nearby hollow log. You can use the normal capture method - Buggy Ball at one end, Snak Trap at 🦩the other. Note that the nearby Cellystix will attack your Snak Trap in a rage if it notices it, so it's a good idea to capture that first, lest you get interrupted. |
|
Cellystix |
One of these massive beasts can be found at the back of the area, on the upper level. The Cellystix will dan💦ce over any patches of peanut butter that you fire, turning it into a makeshift trampoline that you can use to platform around. |
After being shrunk down with Shrink Spice, the Cellystix will be quite harmless. A quick Trip S💝hot will daze it, ready for your Bug Net. |
|
Deviled Eggler |
You can find some very large eggshells around the area. Use the Snakgrappler to bring them to the egg cup in the crater in the center of the level. They'll slot inside automatically once close enough, and the stone spoon will smash them open. |
Just like the Tikkada Masala, getting a Deviled Eggler is a matter of luring it towards a frosty Millimochi with hot sauce and shrinking it♚ immediately after it gets dazed. |
|
Cheddaboardle Rex |
You'll face this at the climax of Broken Tooth's storyline. |
