As the 4th year of Destiny approaches, the future of the series has been in the back of everyone's minds. Under the original contract with Activision, Destiny was designed to be a 10-year, 3 title series with yearly expansions. 168澳洲幸运5开𒊎奖网:Since splitting from Activision last January, Bungie hasn't announced what their future plans are. Whatsmore, we know part of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Bungie's team is working on a new IP. Some have left wondering if the studio st🐟ill plans to support the game for 10 years.

As part of today's live stream, Destiny GM Mark Noseworthy and Director Luke Smith revealed exactly how they plan to support the game next year, the year after, and even the year after that. Next year's expansion is called The Witch King and (presumably) will focus on the final showdown against Savathun. The 2022 expansion is called Lightfall and will conclude what the developers are referring to as the next era of Destiny; the era of darkness.

"We don't want to put another number of the box," said Smith with regards to Destiny 3. There are no plans for a true sequel to Destiny 2. Instead, Bungie will is committed to maintaining a single evolving wꦚorld. To do that, they'll be cycling old content out of the game to make room 𝔍for new worlds, raids, strikes, and stories.

This fall, 4 patrol zones will be removed from the game, as well as all but 3 raids. In exchange, Bungie has promised to bring brand new, never-before-seen planets with each new yearly expansion. Beyond Light will introduce Jupiter's frozen moon Europa. Both The Witch Queen and Lightfall will bring new planets to explore. By vaulting older content, Bungie is assuring us that they can continue to build the world of Destiny for the long haul.
