Cal Kestis is reportedly s🎀till the protagonist of the Jedi: Fallen Order sequel, Jedi: Survivor.

The prot🔜agonist of the first Jedi game was Cal Kestis, a Jedi in hiding that formed a band of rogues that adventure together looking for a lost Jedi holocron that would point the way to any other Jedi in the galaxy. The character received pretty mixed reviews from players, with many claiming that he was a boring choice and that the Nightsister Merrin would have been a more interesting choice.

Because of this feedback and how Jedi: Fallen Order ends with Merrin on the team and Cere seemingly more in touch with her Jedi powers, many thought that Respawn might switch the leading role over to another character for the sequel. GamesBeat reporter and gaming insider Jeff Grubb has claimed that isn't the case, however, and that Cal Kestis will once again be the protagonist.

, where he goes over the recent Jedi: Survivor rumours. Grubb said, "He is, Cal Kestis is still the star of that game (Jedi: Survivor). He is the main character, but I suppose that doesn’t mean there aren’t other playable characters&hellipꦡ;I’m not saying there are either, I don’t know, but what I was told is Cal Kestis is the main protagonist still.”

Although we currently know nothing about the next Jedi game, Grubb should be considered a fairly reliable source on the game, as he's previously leaked its name and the estimated release window for it, as well as confirming the game's existence before EA and Respawn did.

reported on what Grubb said about Cal returning as the protagonist and added this, "Back in January 2020 when I was first told anything on the sequel, Cal was planned to be the main character. However in recent months I’d heard conflicting things, namely that Cal is still the lead, and that there’s a new playable character". Bespin Bulletin notes that they didn't report it as they weren't sure, but it's interesting considering Grubb's comments on there possibly being another playable character.
