Seventeen years. That's how long the Call of Duty franchise has been around. Normally, other game franchises would only have at most 17 games or even a lot fewer, but Call of Duty has strength in numbers. There is nearly three dozen Call of Duty games out now—that's an average of two Call of Duty games per year since its inception.
The downside is that not all 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Call of Duty games are worth the players' time. There are bound to be some bad apples in a crate full of them—even during the franchise's heyday. To help make up the players' minds about which Call of Duty games to avoid, here are ten titles on the negative꧋ end of the critica✨l spectrum, courtesy of Metacritic.
10 ♔ CALL OF DUTY: INFINITE WARFARE - 78
78 is not necessarily a bad critical score aggregate but a vast majority of the users simply dislike Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It's supposedly an experiment for Call of Duty's developers in order to spice up the playground.
Too bad their first formal foray into sci-fi futuristic warfare wasn't as 💜impactful as other trials in the series. Not only did the futuristic setting feel unnecessary but it also didn't introduce anything groundbreaking for the multiplay🅠er.
9 CALL OFꦛ DUTY 2: BIG RED ONE - 78
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is supposedly a standalone expansion/side story for the acclaimed Call of Duty 2 but it's big and lengthy enough to be a game on its own and it also has a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:different developer. That doesn't mean it's a necessary game.
Big Red One does a different take with Call of Duty, using only one character and focusing on only one front. While it was a more personal presentation, the graphics are plain worse compared to Call of Duty 2 which was weird since it was released a month later and got overshadowed. That's probably why most Call of Duty fans have never heard of this one.
8 CALL OF DUTY: 💛GHOSTS - 78
Call of Duty Ghosts is yet again another weird experiment for the franchise as it introduces a separate fictional universe and showcases near-future warfare. Ghosts main highlight is the dramatic story involving two brothers and th🎐eir dog.
That's about it. Despite the emotional weight behind that, it's pretty much the standard fare for Call of Duty where the story is forgettable and convoluted and the game do🧜es well to drown that out with explosions and scriꦑpted sequences.
7 🌜 CALL OF DUTY: FINEST HOUR - 76
Call of Duty: Finest Hour shares the same negative traits as Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. It was released a year after the very first Call of Duty game but somehow looks visually worse and with underwhelming ♕animations.
It's not a bad game because of that considering Finest Hour is a console-only title back in 2004. Finest Hour just seems to fail in comparison to the more atmospheric and grander scale of the first Call of Duty.
6 ꦜ CALL OF DUTY: WORLD AT WAR: ZOMBIES II - 72⭕
One good thing that came out of Call of Duty's rather toxic and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:fast-paced multiplayer is its Zombies component in a short era when the zombie apocalypse is all the rage. Call of Duty's publisher took advantage of this.
They made a mobile game for the iOS called Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies and its sequel. The sequel didn't do well not because of the title being overcrowded with ellipses but bec🧸ause many consider it a waste of time, especially since it's now free back in its release.
5 ౠ CALL OF DUTY: STRIKE TEAM - 71 ﷽
Of course, Activision wouldn't give up after several bad reviews regarding the mobile iterations of Call of Duty. They tried many times for the iOS and one less-than-optimal result of that was Call of Duty: Strike Team.
It was supposed to bring the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Modern Warfare experience to mobile. While the effort was commendable and the game was decent, Strike Team's insistence on appeasing both FPS and strategy fans made the game🔜 a bit clunky.
4 CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS ZOMBIES - 70 💙 ⛎
Another attempt by Activision to bring one of Call of Duty's most fun features to the iOS is with Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies. Much like World At War: Zombies II, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Black Ops Zombies is just꧅ a cutaway from the main game and only lets players play a repetitiꦇve zombies mode.
It faced the same problem as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:other Call of Duty games on mobile, it wasn't free and was up against free competitors. This problem wa꧅s only compounded by the limited maps and the more outdated visuals compared to the more established zombie shooter games on back then.
3 CALL OF DUTY: HEROE🦄S - 6💯6
One weird outlier among all Call of Duty games is Call of Duty: Heroes for the iOS. That's because it's strategy game where players build a 🦋base and manage resources from a top-down perspective.
The game probably could have ditched the "Call of Duty" tag at that point but gotta get those marketing points. Even so, that didn't save the game from getting critically panned for being a Clash of Clans clone with a Call of Duty skin.
2 CALL OF𒅌 DUTY: ROADS TO VICTORY - 64
Call of Duty: Roads to Victory is practically the high-chair of Call of Duty games. It was made for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and quickly became obsolete li🐲ke its platform. The critics praised the production value and presentation, but sadly, it still received unfavorable reviews.
Much of that is due to the fact that the PSP was simply not built for FPS games. Control and level design were wonky. Thankfully, Activision never did this again and likely became more careful in making Call of Duty games for handheld consoles.
1 CALL OF ✨DUTY: BLACK OPS: DECLASSIFIED - 33
Last and certainly the least, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified. There goes Activisi𝔍on again with the ellipses crowding. The game was made especially for the PS Vita—a handheld platform that never really took off as successfully as its Nintendo competito🔜r.
The critics' consensus is that the game feels rushed and unpolished. At the same time, it's too streamlined yet frustratiꦡng due to the poor mission designs. Thankfully, not many people had the misfortune of playing it since the PS Vita was not that popular.
