Another year, another Call Of Duty. This time it's Black Ops 4, and more importantly a battle royale mode called Blackout. For many gamers, the battle royale trend was over the moment Fortnite dances became the stuff of s and . But for Call Of Duty fans, the chance to take the skills honed over many installments and unleash them in a huge free-for-all is too good to pass up. Those people are in luck, because Blackout is getting a beta on September 10th.
Players who pre-ordered Black Ops 4 already have codes to beta test the core game. Those same codes are good for the Blackout beta. People who pre-order now will also get to join in according to a teaser tweeted by the official Call Of Duty Account. The short video also confirms that players will be able to take on the new mode in♌ Solo, Duo, and Quad matches. PlayStation 4 players will ge🥀t the beta first, with "other platforms to follow" at an unspecified time.
One nice convenience about the Blackout beta is that it will use the same launcher as the Black Ops 4 b♋eta. That means, , that people who already played the first beta won't have to download anything more than a simple patch to jump into battle royale.
That's not earth-shattering news, but it does come as a nice surprise. With so many betas and free-to-play games coming to consoles, it's not uncommon for a gamer's home screen to be cluttered with icons. Having both Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 betas use the same icon saves a little bit of space (and gigs!𒐪).

The one downside to this news is the priority given to the PS4. It's barely been two months since the whole Fortnite PS4 cross-play controversy urged gamers and developers to denounce Sony's stinginess 𝔉and embrace the idea of unified gaming. So to see a major release like Call Of Duty give exclusive access to one platform, and have it be PS4, i🃏s a ta🐻d disheartening.
Whatever your machine of choice, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 releases in fu🍌ll on October 12th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One simultaneously.
