Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has just dropped its♍ first trailer, and it’s lookiღng pretty sweet.

Last week, we found out that Call of Duty was returning to its greatest successes by rebooting the Modern Warfare sub-franchise. Rather than call it Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, they were just going to stick with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to indicate a soft reboot of the series.

We knew that would feature a campaign that was riveting, emotional, and intense, claiming Modern Warfare 2’s No Russian mission as inspiration. What we didn’t know was just how much of a focus Infinity Ward would place on their latest Call of Duty game, given how previous entries have strayed morꩲe into multiplayer and even Esports territory.

Well, you can put those concerns to bed. Call of Duty is back, and it’s better than ever.

In a reveal trailer dropped yesterday, Activision shows us glimpses of the game’s campaign by showing real, in-game footage (albeit likely on a VERY high-end PC).

First thing that should come as a surprise is the return of Captain Price. The cigar-smoking B🗹rit has returned to lead an international team of special ops forces as they 💃keep the world safe by operating in a legal grey area. And by that we mean he goes around shooting terrorists and militants without the approval of their host government. Probably.

It looks like most of the game will take place in European cities and places throughout the Middle East. Real-world events also seem to have inspired at least parts of the plot, as there is a very real scene of militants and rio🐠ters 𒊎attacking US installations in a Middle Eastern country. That seems directly taken from the 2012 Benghazi attacks that saw two US government facilities fall in Libya.

Best of all, we got a release date. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare drops on October 25th for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. PC players will need the Battle.net app to get it, while everyone else ca🍬n download from their respective console stores. Pre-orders are available now♉.
