Another addition to the point-and-click adventure genre, Call of the Sea begins like any other entry in the genre with you playing the role of Norah Everhart, an art teacher who is about to begin her own Indiana Jones-like adventure. Centered around Norah’s strange disease, the game quickly unravels in a series of six chapters about the deep connections between Norah&rsqu🥃o;s family and the seemingly abandoned island her husband is lost on.
From the time Norah rows unto the white picturesque b꧋eaches of the island, you quickly find yourself immersed in a mystery that extends far deeper than the Everhart’s. Some of the mystery is explained, but there are many other lingering questions that the plot does not delve into. Spoilers abound as we take a look at the lingering questions we still have about this intriguing title.
8 How Did Norah’s Family G🔯et The Dis🐓ease?
From the start of the game, it becomes clear Norah is dealing with some unknown disease. That’s why her husband went missing in the first place, to find answers and hopefully a cure before she succumbs to the same fate as her mother. But, what’s never addresse🔴d is how or why Norah i🐎s affected by something that originates from a ritual on an island in the South Pacific.

Her family’s history is obviously tied to the island, as is evident with her repeated dreams and the music box leftꦬ to her by her mother. It’s possible that Norah may be descended from someone who lived on the island and eventually escaped, but that still doesn’t explain how they lived long enough to establish a family and how they managed to pass down their disease.
7 ဣ What Was The Poi﷽nt Of The Ritual?
As you learn duri🌸ng the game, Norah’s disease is a consequence of some ritual performed on the island where unwilling participants got black-ooze poured into their eyes. As portrayed by the many murals dotting the island’s landscape, these people were then granted fish-like abilities and could live underwater.
It’s clear that the inhabitants of the island were adept at living both on land and on water, but the game never fullyܫ explains why the ritual was performed. There are some mentions of an “elder-god”, but there is no depth to this entity or his domains leaving the question of why people were turnඣed into fish-human hybrids in the first place.
6 What Was The Blac♍k Ooze?
While in real life it would be a bad idea to touch any unknown liquid found within a strange and empty island, the black ooze is essential to finding your husband and figuring out what in the heavens is going on. The game has us presume that the black ooze is some sort of organic liquid that can physically and mentally affect someone's health as seen by both Norah and the doctor who touched it during the expedition.
But, while Norah is fine from its effects, the doctor slowly goes mad and gains super-human strength🌸. This leads to the presumption that the ooze is alive somehow and can choose what happens to its unfortunate victims.
5 🅷 What Was Up With The Sea Monster? 𒈔
The Lady Shannon, the metal behemoth of a ship that sailed Harry and his expedition crew to the island, has several large gashes torn right through its hull when you first glimpse it in chapter three. You even learn that the crew was concerned with spotting something giant out in the water before the ship was attacked. It's presumed that this entity is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:some sort of sea monster living around the island, but it's never fully explained what exactly it is.
Hints are given that whatever destroyed the Lady Shannon protects the island from unwanted visitors. After it’s clear that something can stop people from coming and going from the island it's hard to understand why Harry’s ship didn’t just sink and kill the whole crew.
4 💫 Why Did No One Hear The Radio Message?
While exploring the ruined insides of the Lady Shannon, you come across a recorded message playing on loop. Harry’s pleas for help must have gone unheard since the expedition crew was labeled as missing, bu🍸t the game never answered why that was.
The ship was out of power, but the message implies that it was sent before the ship got beached since it mentions that something unknown is circling them, a clear indication that the sea monster was following close behind. It’s never addressed if the island had the ability to block radio messages, but even this i💎dea seems impossible since there are several other electronics on the island that work perfectly fine without interference.
3 ♏ How Did Har﷽ry Leave The Island?
The climax occurs when you learn that Harry faked his death in an attempt to get Norah to stay on the island and live out her destiny of living as a fish. But with no boat and a sea monster blocking the way, it's hard to imagine Harry being able to leave the island at all.
The game implies that Harry and one other member of the expedition were able 𓃲to create a canoe and get safely off the island.
However, the game revolves around you solving the scavenger hunt that Harry left for🌺 you on the island. Harry was shot after all and walking around the island, even without an injury, can put you in some🥀 serious danger.
2 How Did ꩲThe Music Box Come Into Being? 🉐
A significant item of Norah’s was her mother’s music box. It appears throughout the g🔴ame and even solves a mystery regarding gaining access to the island’s inner sanctum. Several puzzles on the island revolve around sound and at some point, it is revealed🍌 that the music box plays the same tune that leads Norah further into the island.
What remains a mystery is how the music box knew that tune in the first place. Norah states the music box is a family heirloom, so perhaps someone in Norah’s family had visited the island before but cꦬhose not to stay.
1 ꦕ What Happened If Norah Choose To Sꦐtay?
The ending of the game is decided by player choice. You can either choose to leave the island and 𝄹spend the rest of your life w💃ith Harry before succumbing to the disease or you could choose to stay and live out what Harry calls your “destiny”.
If you chose the latter the game shows Norah swimming into a brightly lit underwater area, but never giver any details further than that. It’s implied that Norah remains permanently in her fish form, but never addresses whether or not there are others waiting for her or why the island wanted her to be there in the first place. Whether it's the will of the “elder-god” or not is something you must decide for yourself.
